A few years ago this was a pretty decent spot that you could sit down and order from while enjoying the food inside. Since then it is a single window with zero human interaction and you have to order everything from a screen while sweating your a$$ off because there isn't any air conditioning in the lobby. The food is SUPER expensive for what you get and it all resembled frozen kindergarten school meals. The meatloaf was $18.50 for the two thin patties and the brisket burger was $15. On top of the $18.50 you had to pay an additional $1.50 for mac and cheese for a side. The collard greens were way too salty to even eat. Would definitely never return.
This is my first and only time I will ever be going to this restaurant. Placed my order at 4:18pm received at 4:33pm and attempted to eat in our car. Our Mac and cheese tasted old and spoiled rotten. Order fried catfish and it was so soggy. Fried chicken was slightly under cooked had to come home and put in air fryer. Not sure why they would put a cold side of potato salad in same container as hot food. Couldn’t even bother touching hot potato salad. My fiancé did not bother even bother to touch her catfish. Yams were so water could tell they were from a can had no flavor at all. Was a total waste of $40 for 2 meals.
I drove by here the other day and made my way back a week later...Best decision I made in awhile?..If you haven't been here PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY because the food is unbelievable!!!

Food turned out pretty good, was still warm too surprisingly. Definitely not worth the hour and a half wait time though. Apparently this used to be its own place, but now it is one of those door dash kinda spots that shares a stall as big as a Walmart isle with 19 other “restaurants”. I still wouldn’t door dash it, I watched 3 drivers get fed up with the wait and cancel on their clients. Customer service started off very poor too. You place your order on a tablet and wait for them to text you, but don’t listen to the texts because they bring you in an hour before your food will be done. You’ve also got an obviously understaffed team that can’t communicate with each other so they will be fed up with each other and with impatient customers. And as a customer you may want to find something else to do while you food is cooking, not worth sitting in a sliver of room with 7 other guests and no a/c. I’d give the entire experience a generous, but solid 4/10.

Everything they had listed on the menu was not on the kiosk machine so you could not order it. So we had to change our orders to the catfish. Our catfish and collard greens we're so salty we could not even eat them. That was a pretty high price to pay for food to throw away.I was there with two other people. They got a text saying their food was ready. They were halfway through with their food (which was toooo salty also) and I still did not get a text. I went to the window and the lady could not find my order. Said that it might have been thrown out because there was a duplicate order. Then she went and talked to another worker in the back and they found my food sitting on the rack behind them. I don't know how long it had been sitting there. But we were waiting at the restaurant the entire time. I did not even get silverware with my order. Luckily my friends shared theirs. Waste of money to eat there. Horrible
I am a foodie from the Midwest. And I love soul food. I am used to having soul food from Mississippi Chicago and down south. It has been very difficult to find that flavorful soul food in Arizona. Charlie May soul food was delicious. I would highly recommend.

I went to this place today 3/29/22 and I'm disappointed that they claim to be soul food selling a $5 side of watery yams straight from the can, macaroni and cheese sauce, 3 collard leaves cut in pieces, and I didn't order burnt ends.... but that's what I got mixed in with a couple of mushy tips. Then the banana pudding is simply GARBAGE. If you're looking for soul food...... THIS AIN'T IT.
