Great little bar for fun conversation and the bartender was awesome!
I rarely leave reviews, either good or bad, but I have to share my experience here: the food was pretty good but the service was poor. We were a large party so I'll give them the benefit of doubt because of that, however, I write this review to share the fact that although I signed the credit card slip at $13 (and I gave the server $4 tip in cash), imagine my surprise when I got my credit card statement and I was charged $17 -- she gave herself a nice $8 tip for that poor service -- now I know why they didn't give me a receipt, so I can't even go back to protest. Just be aware.
I’ve been in north Phoenix 3 months (heading back to Colorado in three days) and stumbled across Cactus Tavern a week before returning home ?. Been back since, and bartender Chris remembered me from the first visit - thanks Chris.
Been coming here for years and food is always amazing. Lots of good people and always a great time!
I was looking for a place for lunch near where my 68 Fiat is being restored and this place seemed worth trying. It is small with great vibes. Don’t blink or you will miss it. I had the French dip with a good sized beer. All excellent. The food is great along with a fair price. I will be back again for sure. Next time I’ll try the shrimp.
