Well that was disappointing. Service was ok felt bad for the poor girl looked like she was alone. She did her best and I can’t complain about that. The food was basic and bland. No stand outs for sure. Beef pho was not very good. Beef was way to thick and very well done. Noodles where in a giant clump. Broth was murky like they used water from the canal mixed with salty sea water. Veggies where fresh though and had a fresh bottle of sriracha. I should have known to run when I walked in and there was a Asian family not eating there full plates of food. Spring rolls had a very odd vinegar taste to them. The inside smelled horrible like something was rotten inside. I’m positive I’ll be sleeping on the toilet tonight. 2 stars only because the server was doing a good job alone.Ps. I did enjoy the view of a dirty table the whole time I was there. Like literally was there from when we walked in to when we left.
Highly recommend #basilic amazing food! So good we basically ordered the entire menu to go! Must haves :*Pho combination *spicy lemongrass chicken *shaking beef *spicy won ton soup *chicken wings - order - you won’t regret
Today was my first time here and it was a recommendation from a friend who had dined here before. I will never return to this establishment.Besides having a nice decor and decorations is all I can rave about. I ordered spring rolls which were priced at $8 (too over priced). It was okay. Then I ordered the wok egg noodles seafood (consists of shrimp, scallops and calamari) but I asked for no calamari. I received my dish and all it had was the shrimp (cook didn't tell the server they were out of scallops. He doubled the shrimp in which was too rubbery to eat. It was too bland and it didn't have flavor for me. I ended up asking for soy sauce and chili to try and alter the taste. It made it worse. Told the server what had happened and just an apology no action to correct it.We weren't greeted like others who came after us. We were told to pick a seating of our choice and we did. Then we sat there and sat there and we had to get their attention to tell them we were ready to order. It was annoying and I had a feeling that I was going to enjoy my dining here. My hunch served me right.I couldn't enjoy my dinner because I was observing the cook and the servers while they were working. The cook kept on touching his face with bare hands while he was cooking. No gloves whatsoever. Then he was talking on his cell phone while preparing food. Didn't wash hands. Gross!!!One of the servers was cutting lemons at the counter. The server was chit-chatting with the other server while she was scratching her arms, looking at her cellphone and touching the face with bare hands. Then went back to cutting lemons. Didn't wash hands while cutting the lemons. Gross!!!I have worked in a restaurant for a few years and had a food handlers card. There are rules to follow. None were followed here today. Starting with the hygiene is the most priority for me. Watching this wasn't pleasant and couldn't eat or enjoy my food. Caution to the wind for thus restaurant. It wasn't worth the money and too expensive for 1 person. I paid over $35 dollars for an appetizer, 1 main dish and A drink. Ridiculous.
Possibly the worst experience I have had eating out. Food took so long and as a Sunday with barely 10 people eating... wow. Appetizer crispy shrimp and calamari came out as clumps...excluding two shrimp that were seperate..peppers were covered In oil....did not finish, then main entre stir fried beef was cold, server serves my dish to another table only to bring to me afterwards. Salty, cold, three bites had to stop.... see photos on bar top... plates collecting... server did not even ask if anything was wrong.... which it clearly was as I closed out as fast as I could..... oh and the filth dirt building up on back wall in plain sight of patrons... it is not a feature to be proud of......
Fantastic service with great food! What more could you want on your vacation. The food was delicious and we enjoyed all of our choices.
It’s a rip off. For $17 I got half a bowl of duck fried rice to go.This is what it looks like, I haven’t eaten any but it looks like someone ate half of it already? It’s about 7 spoonfuls. I’m so severely disappointed. What a waste of money.
New place I'm trying tonight only because it was open later than the other places I go to grab some Pho. Service isnt the greatest, we waited a good 5 minutes for water then another 10 for our orders to be taken. Spring rolls and combination Pho. Springs rolls are loosely rolled and slightly smaller than most other places. We finally got our Pho. Not impressed. Hot soup was almost spilled on me. Basil was wilted, taste was mediocre. I dont think I will be coming back. I'll stick to my regular places. That is all.
I got the food for someone and was not sure what they want but the guy new what I wanted. I was served very hot friend rice in 5 minutes. Place is notable clean and quiet atmosphere. This is my first time but my friend likes this kind of food so the next time I see her I'll bring her here.
I love this place! The waitress is extremely knowledgeable about allergies and what works for Gluten Free and Vegan options! Very accommodating and ALWAYS friendly. One of my favorite places to go and not have to worry about getting sick!
Two things:1. Prepare to burn your mouth trying to get the pho in as fast as you can. It comes out steaming hot and taste like God put her whole foot in it. Has an apple tone to the beef that's simply heavenly.2. The fresh beef spring roles are ? because of the peanut sauce. The most memorable moment is their take in Thai Ice Tea. It comes out hot. Rather, it comes out in a glass that the tea was served in like warm chai with ice added to the glass after the fact. It's a warm soothing, not to sweet delight. Definitely in the top 10 of pho experiences.
