First Visit to this location. It’s smaller than Old Town and too Hot inside right now (July). Sat at the bar, the bartenders—Eric & Scott were the BEST…5⭐️ for them!!!Food was ok…Shrimp in tacos not so good and only 2 medium shrimp for $5! The Carne Asada was better-Loaded with meat and more flavorful. Chips and salsa weren’t up to par either! They have a band on Sunday evening on the patio, but they face away from the tables into the parking lot and can’t see them from the bar (kinda doesn’t make sense). Way too HOT to sit outside right now!Plenty of parking as it’s in Desert Ridge Shops! Great location!I’d return for the bartenders (Eric & Scott).?
The service and food were great. But seating could have been much better. We arrived for an early dinner. Signed in for a family of four. They quoted 20 minutes. we sat and watched groups of two and four come a go and everyone who came after us were seated. When we walked in we saw empty two top and four top tables empty and asked the host if they could be pushed together. They said they were waiting for the one and only six top to open (which was two tables pushed together). We asked if they could just move the two tables together, they finally agreed. However, that put a damper on our dining experience. Giving a "2" rating because the staff are not trained to accommodate a family of five.
This place is beautiful. It is very clean. And the staff is extremely hospitalable and friendly. I went there with some family members. The ones that ordered the tacos seem to enjoy their food the best. I ordered the teca burrito. That burrito is made with beef ribs. The meat was pretty dry, I had to drown it in sauce to make it tolerable. It felt like the meat might have been cooked a while ago and just kept warm. Some of the other plates that were ordered had the same problem with the meats being a little on the dry side.
Stopped in for a late lunch while out shopping. Order Carne Asada Salad. Good but swimming in salad dressing. The server was attentive and timely but that machine! The machine that takes credit cards is ridiculous. Slow! After I paid and signed, it wouldn't give me a receipt and my waiter wasn't in sight. The two young girls that greet you were clueless about the machine. SO, I just left. Cute little restaurant and I loved the music!
I. Am. Obsessed. Not sure who is responsible for making the best horchata on the planet, but I might need to marry them. The tacos a perfect dance of all different flavors and the queso makes you keep eating till you're overstuffed, but can't put it down because it's so good. The whole vibe of this place is ON, every corner you look there is beautiful decoration and art and it's just a sight to see.The staff is so pleasant and friendly and they are all just epic, every single time I come here.Ironically I bumped into this place by accident, by looking for another place that doesn't exist anymore and I am so so so so glad that's how this went.My new place to go,Gracias Barrio Queen ❤️
First time at Barrio Queen, visiting from MA. Waited for about 1hr, expected on Cinco de Mayo but they had a DJ with live music in the outside seated area and the misters to help beat the heat. Once we got in, our waiter was on the ball! Got our drinks, chips and salsa in minutes. Ordered the guacamole that my friends always rave about and it didn't disappoint at all. The presentation of having the guacamole made right in front of you was cool too. Had a strawberry margarita which was amazing. Ordered our food and before we knew it, it arrived and looked so good... I forgot to take a picture of it. Overall, this place is a 10/10 in my opinion. Absolutely fantastic.
Met my Mom there with her friends for there for Cinco de Mayo (Cinco de Drinko). It was packed but they still had great service. The wait staff was fun,the food was good and the DJ WAS GREAT! It was my fist time but won't be my last!
Excellent. Closest authentic experience. Great quality and wonderful taste. It does get crowded fast so be sure to reserve a table in advance.
Great food and happy hour. Bartenders a r e great at making drunks to suit your liking ?
It was SO good! I had the CAMARÓN ASADO, the CHURROS, and the PINEAPPLE FRESCA ?????? Would definitely come back! I watched them make the guacamole and I wish we would have ordered that too!!
