I read all the reviews and decided to go ahead and stop in. I wanted a large cupcake for my son. It was his adoption day and we celebrate it for him.Turns out they were either limited or out of most things. They blamed it on supply issues. Ok, I can give them that. So we settled on a small round cake for my son.The cost was $15 for it, which was a shock in itself. But we got it and I asked them to write happy adoption day and his name. They took it to the back did their thing and brought it back boxed up.Get it home open it up and it said happy birthday not what I asked for. So I had to quickly scrape off all the writing but his name, and you can see in the picture, his name is even smudged a little. Moving on. As soon as I cut the cake for him, it completely fell apart. Needless to say I will not be going back there. I expected a lot more for a cake of that size and price.
Love this place. We always get our cakes from them. They custom make ur cake exactly like in the pictures. They helped me right away when I accidentally dropped my sons birthday cake. Without any hesitations, they made me a brand new cake that I could pick up in a hour. Definitely recommend them!
Under new management. They will not say so. But not the same place or service. In February asked for birthday cupcakes & the service was horrible the person went out of her way to be rude.The cupcakes were unflattering &looked like baby shower cake. I had to buy toppings. I had the rudest service. Ten years at this bakery and I was very disappointed. Once was very welcoming & took time to help design birthday treats now you notice the difference in treatment went in today poor service. When I talked to someone who used to go here in the Acoma neighborhood & said they have had the same experience. Guess I’m getting a Fry’s cake. One person goes out of her way to be rude who assisted me last time was bluntly rude again. No longer my neighborhood bakery. Thank goodness I was suggested a new bakery with better service. I’m willing to spend money but in a better environment.
Ordered bridal shower cake in Sept. Wanted simple, with purples but using ombre technique (seamless fading from one shade to next). Even took them a photo of a cake (it was exactly what we wanted except different color). Cake we picked up NOT OMBRE. It was striped. $170 for a cake that didnt look like sample pic. The cake with flower is the look we wanted, gave them that pic as sample. We didnt want the flower. But didnt want stripes. Plus cake couldve been moister.
I paid $127 on a card and the rest in cash a year in advance because it would spread the wedding expenses out. A week before when I called to confirm they wanted another pic of colors, so I sent it for the third time. I figured they just wanted to be sure and because it was different people dealing with it on different days. They also said I still owed $130, it was a week before and I didn't have time to deal with discrepancies. It was more than likely because the person didn't work there anymore and their prices had gone up. So I just paid it, because we needed a cake. I've used Baker Wee for decades, so I just trusted the cake and cupcakes would be of the same quality and taste as expected. It certainly was last June when we did the tasting. They communicated every time and were super polite. I was a little nervous when they called the morning of the event while we were getting ready to confirm more details, but they delivered on time. The cake was not as moist as usual, but our guests all knew it was Baker Wee's signature champagne cake and strawberry filling and everyone still enjoyed it. We ordered a single layer smaller 6 inch cake for a small tower, but you can see in the pictures it was too large to use. It's all good, we just used the cupcakes and made it work. Moral of the story, things go differently than expected sometimes for your big day, but our guests did not know any different and we still had cupcakes to serve. Just enjoy your big day and know that I'd still order from Baker Wee in the future because they're local and they delivered on time. Just have them sign the receipt and note when it is paid in full when you pay and it should be fine. I also wouldn't pay them cash, because the person doesn't work there and mysteriously they only have record of the card payment. It's my fault for trying to order so far ahead and paying in advance. I'm a planner like that and have to manage my time too.
Very,very disappointed with this place. I needed to inquire and hopefully place a cake order for 2 cakes. My estimated price I for both cakes was gonna be at least $400. I walked in to this establishment at 4:15pm telling the counter attendant I was there to inquire about their cakes and she immediately said we stop taking cake orders at 4:30pm. I thought okay it's 4:15pm. This attendant absolutely refused to give me information on their cakes, instead she gave me the business card and told me to get on their website and order from there. I kept trying to get that girl's name not trying to be obvious but she caught every attempt by telling me anyone could help me if I came back at a later date and I was rushed out of there while the attendant focused her attention on putting away and relocating the left over display cupcakes from behind the glass counter almost as if she wanted to make sure she was out of there at closing time 5pm exactly. I am happy to inform you that I found another bakery with better customer service who I am sure appreciated my business. I am very disappointed and I will NEVER return nor will I ever refer anyone to that establishment. I wish them the best and I wish anyone who chooses to take their chances with this place good luck!
I hired Baker Wee for a wedding cake and they were excellent. The tasting was great, the final cake was delicious, and they were really easy to work with through the entire process. The wedding guests all had a lot of really great things to say about the cake.
Absolutely amazing!! I recommend this place to anyone that’s looking for a great bakery that makes custom cakes. We have gone to this bakery in the past. They never disappoint! Both cakes were delicious!
I came into this bakery for special request cupcakes and they knocked it out of the park!! My husband wanted a cake that mimics the Samoa Girl Scout cookies for his birthday and they were beyond delicious! The only sad part was that I wish I had ordered more! Staff extremely nice and helpful, the creativity here is amazing and their love for baking is obvious! I would 100% recommend this place and will be returning myself!
