Never disappoints!! My favorite downtown Phoenix restaurant and go to for absolutely delicious food and amazing service!
I went to Anhelo once when it was still in Heritage Square. I truly liked the old location better. I also liked the a la carte menu. The menu listed online had a pasta listed as part of the prix fixe menu, but then the new menu in restaurant split it out into a pasta course at an extra cost. I occasionally like a prix fixe menu but I'm not sure I loved it here. The decor of the new digs is generic and boring. The tuna app was delicious. The scallops were good. The beef wellington was very tasty and a big enough portion for 2 people IMO. I did not like the duck. I told my husband he should send it back (he did not). The servers were great. I'm not sure this place will succeed in downtown PHX....we'll see! (it was not very full on a Friday night) Also, the dress code is a bit stuffy in hot weather.
Anhehlo is not just a restaurant. It’s an incredible experience! My husband and I have traveled the world, having been to 26 counties and numerous Michelin restaurants and we can say without zero hesitation that what chef Ivan and team have put together is nothing short of amazing! This is hands down the BEST FINE DINING experience in Phoenix/Scottsdale.Chef Ivan combines impeccable taste with an upscale downtown vibe that is elegant and intimate. The perfect ambiance as you navigate your way through the delicious masterpieces he creates. Ever dish seriously blew us away! The service was top tier and everything was incredibly detailed right down the burgundy wax sealed menus and rose shaped butter. The wine list curated by Ryan was simply spectacular! One glance and you realize it has been carefully selected to be out of the ordinary and provide a next level experience. Finally!!! ANHELO is exactly what the valley has been missing. A wonderful experience through and through.
Awesome experience from the phone call in advance of arrival to accommodating our bags while dining. Food and drinks were delicious. Juan and Jessica were awesome, and Ryan added a special touch! The hostess, servers and chef provided an excellent experience.
Finally, downtown Phoenix has true five star offering. Every detail from the greeting by the Maitre D, the presentation of the menu, and depth of the wine list suggests a great dining experience. The menu, while concise, is brilliantly constructed to offer something for everyone. The food is artfully plated and served by impeccable wait staff. No detail was missed. The only possible area of improvement would be to add a valet parking option. It is downtown and parking there can be a pain. While this is not an inexpensive meal, it is worth every penny. I've eaten at many restaurants that charge these prices and much more for a much less original and beautiful dining experience. The crudo was spectacular, my wife loved her risotto and I had the duck. This is a dish I prepare at home regularly and like to compare the restaurant's version. I was pleasantly surprised! It was also most as good as my own, ha! The chocolate mousse was superb and the coffee was perfect. Oh and did I mention the encyclopedic wine list, it is the best and most complete I have seen in this town. I highly recommend this to any seeking a true culinary experience, if you haven't been - GO!
Great service, details and ambience BUT the food was lacking if you compare to other restaurants of similar price point. The food was a hit and a miss. Loved the octopus but the Wagyu beef was served luke-warm and got cold and gummy quickly. I couldn’t finish it because of the texture. I expected every dish would be amazing and it wasn’t. Dessert was good but, again, I was not wowed. Would not return for the price. I can get exceptional, consistent taste at other restaurants for the same price point.
Ryan and his team were amazing and took great care of us. The food was great and super delicious. We got the scallops, beef Wellington and duck breast. All were amazing, especially the duck. For dessert, we had the semifreddo, which was out of this world. Perfect date spot and recommend very highly.

Amazing! Everything is delicious. Highly recommend doing the chefs tasting menu, definitely worth it.
My husband and I are originally from Southern California and have lived in Arizona for 4 years now, this was the BEST food we've had since moving here! The Beet & Yogurt Salad was like magic in my mouth and the Vanilla Souflee is literally the best thing I've eaten in my entire life! Service was absolutely incredible, we can't wait to come back!
