Cracker Barrel is a great place to get some good Country cooking. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are all great. Very good service.
We had a late breakfast. My wife ordered the French Toast meal and I ordered the Old Timers Breakfast. The eggs for both dishes were perfectly cooked. The biscuits are always great. The service was outstanding. On the down side, the hash brown casserole lacked seasoning. Their coffee is Okay. But, they have seriously changed their menu and many of the selections they dropped were my favorites e.g. chicken livers.
Had a great breakfast! Real blueberry pancakes with sausage patties on the side! Cooked to perfection and served piping hot. Our server Chloe did a great job waiting on us.
Cracker barrel is a great place for breakfast all day. They have the best peach pancakes and keep getting them. Even when busy we get our food with in 15 mins. All the servers are excellent with making sure our drinks are topped off and checking on us. Make this your place to eat! The gift shop has a lot of cool things to see and buy.
We went on a Friday night for dinner and very busy so definitely put your name on the wait or online check in as it's fish fry Friday special. The chicken and dumplings definitely needed some salt and pepper, good thing it was kept on the table. The country boy breakfast is my husband's go to meal every time her eats here. The hashbrowns apparently are bottomless with this particular meal and comes with grits, biscuits and gravy, and he also ordered the fried apples which like the hashbrowns are always good. We spice up the hashbrowns with Tabasco. The biscuits and gravy are hit and miss, on this night they were decent. The corn bread was also delicious. The turnips and steamed broccoli were good, but are also difficult these up. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Both were painfully bland, salt and pepper couldnt save them. The mashed potatoes were covered in white gravy. They offered a seasonal side three cheese squash, the waitress commented the cooks commonly overcook it, but on this night was good. They just got their liquor license and have a small selection. Server was nice and polite.
Stopped in due to the billboard ad for $6.99 lunch specials. Only dumplings or meatloaf for that price. So disappointing. The server was a newbie. She had difficulty remembering things and for some reason did not write down our order. Needless to say, there were errors. I was not happy with the silverware being out on the tables along with napkins in a basket. They were not wrapped; just thrown in there. Also, I think servers defeat the purpose of masks when they carry the plates of food in their bare hands or on their arm. The first soft drink was flat. The biscuits were cold along with those little things of near frozen butter. My companion's sandwich was not as ordered. My chicken and dumplings tasted like watery condensed canned soup. It had no seasoning. There was a glare and a draft where we were seated. Also, a little too difficult to find since the server kept disappearing. The billboard is just to get you in the door for increased prices, reduced staff, and over filled country store.
If you are still covid squeamish bring your own wipes for the games on the table and regular salt and pepper shakers. They have other customers right next to you so not to much spacing in between tables.Food was hot and delicious.Service wasn't to bad for how busy it was.Gift shop is still very cute and always have amazing things.
Took my mother for her birthday and our server was amazing. She made it so special for her. Along w the rest of my family. All the food came out at the same time and no problems
We have been going to Cracker Barrel every New Years day for as long as I can remember, and it is always busy, so when we were told there was a 40-50 minute wait, we weren't surprised. But after 30 minutes we realized they had stopped calling parties back. After another 30 minutes we decided to ask how much longer since we hadn't heard a party called to be seated in quite some time. We were then told by patrons leaving the host station that they had closed the kitchen due to staff shortage. We then verified with the hostess and she confirmed that they were only taking new online orders and were no longer having dine-in service. It would have been nice if they would have announced their decision when they made it, which seemed to be just after we put our names on the list.
The food is consistently amazing no matter the location. This day was pretty busy and the only thing I would of like to see would of been the table bussers hustling a bit more. The wait for a table was about 45 minutes and I noticed 4 tables that remained untouched for 25 of those minutes. Which is odd....cause the more the servers make the .ore the bussers tip out is ....anyways food was great as always. Oh and as far as checking in online...the app says you can do this entirely from the app. Be aware: although the app says you've checked in...the location actually requires you to re-check in with the hostess to actually get in line. Still a solid 4 stars!
