Went numerous times, food is great and service even better. Strongly recommend the wet ribs and grilled veggies.
Lean brisket sandwich is by far the best brisket I've ever tasted. It's absolute perfection. My wife and I enjoy it with coleslaw weekly. Lean, tender, perfect BBQ. There's nothing to compare it to. I leave totally satisfied fantasizing about my next visit!!! THE BEST!!!By the way, the service is always prompt and excellent.
My son and I stopped in for a late lunch while in town. The fried catfish was really good, cooked perfectly. My son had the chicken and really liked the smoky flavor of it. He had beans and cornbread and said they were really good. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp but a little to sweet and to much dressing for my taste but it was okay. Everything was fresh. The prices were very reasonable and the service was great. We will definitely go back when we are in town again.

Ate at Waldo’s for lunch today for the first time. Pretty busy and waiter/waitress were swamped. Even heard them say they were short help, yet both did an excellent job of keeping up. My ribs were dry, Mac and Cheese was bland and cold, potato salad was good however. Daughter and wife’s food was above average but not great. Server was the best part of our experience, he did an excellent job and very friendly. Don’t think I’d have to go back because I’ve had better at other BBQ places here in Mesa. It wasn’t terrible but there’s better out there that I’ve had. The peach cobbler was excellent too.
The servings were quite generous. I ordered the Memphis Sampler which is pulled pork and country ribs with coleslaw, green chili mac and cheese, cornbread, cowboy beans and peach cobbler. Disappointed is the best word to describe. Ribs had what appeared to be cartilage type bones and not what I’ve experienced at most other places. They were moist but very fatty and the so called bones were a turn off. The beans were just pinto beans, yet quite good, but not the cowboy beans I’m used to. Peach cobbler was tasty but was cakey instead of cobbler. Forget the slaw and cornbread. The pulled pork was terribly dry. It all comes down to an individual taste for each item. I’ll stick with Joe’s Original BBQ which has yet to disappoint. I was just trying to support a local business.
Horrible experience. Ordered ribs, pulled pork sandwich, corn cob, beans, and 1 side order of potato wedges. Wanted cornbread but they were out.Handed order in bag and paid.See the pics - this is all I received. I immediately called them and spoke to Frank but he said once we leave with the order they will not make it right. Even though they had my ticket order and I offered to send them the pics of all the potato wedges we received and a baked potato. He refused to offer any compensation or allow us to come back to get the correct order. When I threatened to dispute on my credit card and review on social media, he replied, “Go ahead”. So here it is!BTW, the food was cold and the ribs were dry - this is NOT the Waldo’s we’ve come to love over the past 30 years. Needless to say, we will NEVER BE BACK! You’ve been warned!! BEWARE!!
First time here. Food quality was excellent. Had the baby back ribs. My wife had the potato with pulled pork. Portions are wonderful for your money. Scotty our waiter was very friendly, and you could tell by the way he acted he really cared about our dining experience. Mason jar cheesecake with blueberry is awesome, plus you get to keep jar.
We were greeted with a big, genuine smile by our waitress, Alice. That started our lunch out on the right foot! She was super helpful with the menu as this was our first time there. Alice was very accommodating while being friendly & quite professional!! She deserves a raise, especially in light of the very poor customer service so many other restaurants & stores are experiencing these days! Our lunch was EXCELLENT, both of us having the bbq pork loaded baked potato! We WILL BE BACK SOON! Just hope Alice is working that day! Thanks again--she is TOP NOTCH
First stop when we got to Mesa! We were taken here and not disappointed at all. The flavor is truly MidWest BBQ, and the staff were super friendly, even when some of the customers were not!
