Rubios USED to be the very best for fish tacos...not any more. The staff is very friendly, the place is clean and well stocked but the food is so subpar. Overcooked fish with way too much baking powder in the batter, no thinly sliced cabbage and if you blink you miss the creamy sauce they used to put on the double tortilla. The salsa are ALL so bland it is worse than catsup and the chips are hard as nails. What happened Rubio's ? Why did you change your recipes ?
I have been to several Rubios(great one at UCLA student union)and this one is larger than most, very clean with a nice friendly ambience. GM Penny(very friendly and professional)suggested their new Argentinean shrimp bowl which was delicious and a lot of food for a low price. Their guacamole is amazing, best I've had in years.They also carry my favorite Pellegrino Italian sodas. I'm excited to try their Taco lunch special on my next visit.Highly recommended for quality, value and atmosphere.
I ordered poorly. Chipped salads are my favorite. This was a bowl of lettuce with not much else.
Quick and delicious. Always a favorite. Mahi Mahi and Alaskan salmon blackened. Get a side of white Chipotle sauce, too!
Used to be one of our favorite places to eat. Went in tonight to order their $7.99 everyday menu carnitas burrito and the curly dark hair gentleman at the register acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Showed him on the app what it was and he is still confused. Looked at the app, then the menu board. Then asked what protien, I said carnitas, and he asked "chicken?" Think this store needs a lot better training, and MUCH better management. I walked out, as did the person in front of me. There was another lady complaining about a wait 20 minutes for food. She wad concerned it was cold and when she asked she got no response, only a smile. ?
Hours on the door say 9pm. Doors locked and many employees inside at 8:30pm. Not a staffing issue. Closed early for no reason.
I keep giving these guys a chance cause I love the restaurant. But this location is giving the company a bad name. Probably won't be going to Rubios anymore.
Overall very good food. I'm a regular to this spot. I normally order online and pick up. The restaurant does get very busy at times as the general location is very busy. The addition of online ordering has definitely created a bottle neck to indoor diners as online orders are serviced first in rotation resulting in long wait time when dining in. The staff are friendly, and are always working whenever I stop in.
Horrible Food!!!!!!! No care for how things are put together. Lobster had zero flavor and everytime I order things are missing.
I've come to the location three separate times, and never ordered anything due to the extremely slow service, and the lack of accommodation. There was even one time when I arrived where they had no rice for their bowl dishes. The first time I came, it took 15 minutes for anyone to help me and staff was just walking around in the back. Definitely would not recommend.
