Who doesn't love the good ole Pete's Fish and Chips. For me I can't get enough of the shrimp and Chips with a piece of fish AND A MONSTER BURGER WITH CHEESE. Don't forget extra Pete special sauce to dip your chips in and put on that Monster Burger. If you don't like it let me know I'll buy your lunch!!
Place hits the spot! Can't go wrong with anything on their menu! Been going there all my life and ordered the chicken tenders for the first time and they were amazing! Kids were feeling a burger and practically inhaled them whole.Nice to have a local spot you can eat at without having to take out a small loan.
Pete's is my guilty pleasure food. I love the sauce the give with the shrimp. Unfortunately, they are a cash only business, which is partly why I knocked off one star. They do have an ATM on site but I don't see a point in paying an ATM to withdraw my own money. They also seem to run out of some of their menu items quite often, but they have plenty of options to choose from.
I'm so disappointed in this place. Surprised at how popular this place is. Nothing special. First of all, I'm paying for frozen fish sticks. Along with all the other food. Must buy from Costco or something. The fries have no salt. Tasteless fries. Guess u have to ask for salt on your fries. And my burger was a flop. I think I need to open up a kids fast food place and this is what u get.
Has always been one of my favorite places to get fried fish and fries. Ordering extra Pete’s sauce is a must, I enjoy it with my meal. Good pricing, especially if on a budget and still want something good to eat. Also they do have a kids menu, if your little one doesn’t like fish.
Honestly I love going to this place! They cook food so quickly! It's outdoors or to go and the staff is super friendly! They accept cash only but they have an ATM on sight! Of course you must try the special sauce but I'd totally recommend a Rice crispy treat (definitely the best I've had in the city)! Cheap and local seriously you can't beat this place!
Getting food from Pete's is a treat. It's a shame the chicken is just nuggets like I can get at the store, but the fish and shrimp are good as ever. Anyone that is going there for the first time needs to look at the menu online, because they aren't patient. Order food and move along.
Pete's been a family favorite since 1962 when my grandparents moved to Mesa. My mom and her siblings grew up loving Pete's and so have I and all of my cousins. Now we are bringing our kids here and yup, they are hooked too. That's four generations of Pete's Fish and Chips lovers! Pete's has a flavor all its own, and we have enjoyed every meal we've had here.
Food is average and cheap, but the place appears to be culturally significant to downtown Mesa. The fish is shaped into a square. The coating on the fish is of the breaded variety, but yields a very satisfying crunch with each bite. The fry's lacked any distinct flavor. The red sauce is runny but yummy, and the 2 piece fish plate only came with 1 cup of it which was not nearly enough.
Really good seafood for ridiculously low prices.. friendly staff.. guy at register was extremely surprised I tipped (from new England, guess people don't tip much around here)... so pay it forward.. stop in for great food and show your appreciation for the affordable pricing by doing the same..
