Went on a Sunday at noon time. Expansive dim sum options and can ask for the full menu. Getting a waiter/waitress can be difficult so exercise your patience. I thought the food could be kicked up a notch like the black bean spare ribs seemed to lack depth in flavor. The baked BBQ pork bun didn't have much filling but I thought the bun tasted good. Chinese broccoli texture was good. Oyster sauce is quite salty. Eat with rice. Fried sticky rice was good -- has Chinese sausage in it -- not BBQ pork. The soy sauce stuff on the beef pancake was very watery. But I ate it all while I was there so obviously I didn't think it was too bad ? it was a little pricey in my opinion. I'd go again to try the pan fried noodles or chow fun.
The restaurant is usually busy, but worth the wait time. The food carts offer a variety of freshly made, delicious side dishes. The menu offers a large selection of main entrees and portions are great for sharing. The coconut buns in the cart are a sweet, delicious treat to end a meal. Service is quick and the servers are very attentive.
One of the best Dim Sum restaurants in the valley. We've enjoyed the meals here. Selection from the carts is a bit limited, but the carts have most of the traditional favorites. Chicken feet, pork ribs, shumai, egg rolls, Chinese broccoli, buns, dumplings, desserts all here.
We went for dinner and decided to stay since it wasn't busy. It was around 7 on weeknight and empty. The service was excellent and we all enjoyed the various dumplings. Bring a group because you'll want to try everything! Highlights include the Soup Dumplings and the Crispy House Noodles. We ordered a lot and spent $25 per person- 4 total.
Decent dim sum, they have more variety during lunch compared to the other places around them. I happened to be craving garlic spinach and their ginger chicken so I went to place a pick up order. Do yourself a favor and only visit if you have nothing planned as pick up orders can take a long time on busy hours ( I went on Sunday night-that’s kind of my fault and it took an hour). I sat and listened to the phone ring with no one there to answer it so forget phone in orders on the weekends. The way they run the restaurant is very chaotic. There is no set person at the cashier and the staff unfortunately do not know how to prioritize. They appear short most of the time and I can only really eat here on the weekday when no one comes. There has been a couple of instances where the silverware is not completely cleaned. You have been warned.
Many of the reviews I read gave this place a bad review; however I decided to check it out. I am sad to say the reviews were accurate. The food is not entirely bad, but the service and selection is mediocre at best. We spent most of our time hunting for carts to bring us food, because the cart ladies would not come around to our side of the restaurant. 2 other tables next to us were just as frustrated with the service. I am glad I tried it but I would go back.
Delicious dim sum. Rolling carts and the works!! We also ordered beef chow foon and there was definitely the aroma of the fire in the wok. Service was swift and friendly and harried. The place looked a bit worn out. Could use a face lift.
GO TO HANGS KITCHEN ❤️? Best Kung pow chicken we have ever eaten!!! Always the freshest ingredients husband and wife owned husband and wife operated. If you love fish get the fish filet w/black bean sauce!! Steamed dumplings are the best outside of Hong Kong I have ever eaten! ??????????????
We saw this one has a great rating so here we go. 2 people for a little over $50 it's quite pricey. We came on a Sunday morning and it's very busy which is good because then they'll have a high food turnover. The moving carts will go to you pretty quickly basically you can start eating immediately after seated haha. The taste overall is pretty authentic to a true Cantonese person. Maybe some of the dishes they made different from mine region but I feel like they shumai should be shrimp instead of mostly pork. Some dishes were a bit cold. But overall it's still pretty great!!
Getting a solid 2 ONLY because the food was good. The service and overall experience was downright awful! I was excited to take my boyfriend for dim sum after I had the BEST experience in San Fransisco, but what and embarrassment and disappointment we were in for at Mekong. I would never go in to sit down again, takeout Only as it is not worth your time; the waitstaff are rude and service is slow they don’t have half of the items available even though we went between the hours of 11am and 3 pm as indicated on their website as being full service dim sum menu. So disappointing!
