We went mid-day when it wasn't very busy. Took over 45 minutes to get our food! The kitchen was having serious problems getting food out of the window, must have been 20+ plates stacked on top of one another. Manager wasn't helping at all.The house potatoes were severely undercooked, basically raw, drowning in oil with no salt or pepper.Eggs Benedict my eggs were cooked well done, no runny yolks whatsoever and almost no hollandaise.
Overall a great experience. The portions were enough to split between two people. I had the Lobster and Brie omelette and the eggs where not dry or overcooked but very light and fluffy. The hollandaise sauce was the right balance to combine all the items in the omelette. The side of potatoes with the meal was perfect....like it was cooked in a cast iron skillet. I could taste the flavors from whatever was used to cook them from being seasoned overtime. I also happened to order a pancake which was about an inch thick and 14" wide. Their generous portion of butter made all the difference but in the end it was too much food. The staff was attentive and watching them interact with other parton's made it felt like I was in a small country dinner as everyone was on a first name basis. Overall the experience, cost and food is worth the trip...
French toast was really weird, tasted like pineapple and weird texture like it was doused in water or simple syrup. Eggs were sitting in something really sweet and over done. Everyone else’s food looked ok. My husband had chicken fried steak and it was ok, gravy was not so good. Potatoes, some of them were warm and some of them were cold. When asked if I wanted a box for the French toast, I let server know it was weird and flavored and she reacted argumentatively. I wouldn’t come here.
We were pretty excited to find out they opened a Henhouse by the airport! Unfortunately I think we need to wait to come back to this location. Besides not getting utensils, until after our food arrived, my poached eggs were definitely a big mjss! One came with a whole shell and the other egg was totally over cooked. The meatloaf was dry, not like the other Henhouse’s meatloaf for sure! The noise level was extremely high! Note to self bring your EarPods. Our drinks didn’t get refilled at all. It seemed that they had a lot more customers and not enough wait staff. Plus they only serve Pepsi and we are Coke fans! Not a deal breaker but had to mention it.
Grossed out by the Hyatt Place kitchen disgusting cleaning practices we went over to this place and had a very good breakfast with plenty to eat and endless coffee.
My family and I ordered a small stack of the pancakes with chocolate chips. By far the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. Massive portions. All the different foods we ordered were great. Extremely long wait times, to sit down and to get our food, probably because everything seems to of been made from scratch. The food was worth it. I’ll be coming back soon.as a plus, the service was also really good.
You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning! As the sign above the bar says… this is a judgment free zone, so dig into some churro donuts and fried chicken goodness!Staff is friendly and food is a 10! Me and my gf can’t wait to come back, it’s definitely our new breakfast spot in the Mesa / Tempe area!On the weekends get there early to avoid the rush
The food was delicious. Great service and food was serve fast. Definitely, we will eat again at the Henhouse Cafe.
Amazing food! Great staff and ownership…
Stopped by this cute little cafe because it was near our hotel. Glad we did. Large menu, reasonable prices, nice portions and food good and ambience.
