Big fans of the Hapa Food Company! I used to visit them when they had a food truck in Washington and I’m happy I can still enjoy their food in a new state. I ordered the Kalua Pig plate and the filled Malasadas to go and the food traveled very well considering we drove 50 miles across the valley!

Got the Kalbi and Garlic Shrimp mix plate. A•M•A•Z•I•N•G. Cooked to perfection, awesome flavor. The rice and mac salad were bomb also. Really good Kim Chi as well. Not a bad thing to say about the food. The atmosphere was great also, very relaxed and comfortable and most importantly clean. 5/5 coming back and you should give it a try if you're in the area.

Love the atmosphere and the food was AMAZING! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the Kalbi short ribs were very fatty and had to toss about half of it but the meat we did try melted in our mouth. Mac salad was very good and we couldn't get enough of the garlic shrimp. Will definitely be going back.

Hapa Food Co is a small Hawaiian BBQ eatery with customary Malasadas pastries made as well. Hapa Food is located in the southeast corner of the strip mall area of the SE corner of the intersection at Higley and Southern roads in Mesa. The restaurant is very hidden and easy to miss.Despite its small size and secluded location, the restaurant has a surprisely ample number of tables and seating capacity. Fitting the Hawaiian motif, the staff is extremely mellow, kind and helpful. On the menu are a number of typical dishes: kalua pig, bbq chicken, kalbi (short ribs), and garlic shrimp and chicken. You can get the entrées as a meal or have a mix plate with two selections. The plates come with a big portion of white rice and a serving of tasty macaroni salad. The kalua pig is tasty as well. The BBQ chicken is breaded and wonderfully savory and breaded with a light coating. The malasadas were hot and freshly cooked. They come in daily new flavors of custard. Very good. The prices are a bit higher than I'd expect but not unreasonable.Overall, I felt the food was good. I will like to return to try the kalbi ribs, which I didn't get to on this first visit.I will be back.

Got there right when they opened.. so did 2 other people. 11am on a Saturday. The food was soo good. Garlic chicken, kahlua pig, and bbq chicken. We tried all cooked to perfect. The mac salad, kimchi and rice also very good! Got a half dozen of the ube malasadas to go. Very good!!

If you're looking for some authentic Hawaiian, go here. My wife had the Kalbi and Garlic shrimp and I had the BBQ chicken and Kalua pig over rice. Both plates came with the Hawaiian macaroni salad, which is amazing. For dessert e had the custard filled malasadas. If you've been to Hawaii and had Leonard's malasadas, then you'll understand why these are worth getting. Enjoy!

My only complaint was that the wait for food was too long (but I can’t blame them, they’re on aloha time) and that there was no phone number for call-in orders, but the next day, they announced that they take phone orders now!The food is delicious, very reminiscent of Hawaiian food from the islands!Never skip the kalbi

So yummy! We got the Kalua pig and kilbi and split it. It was so yummy and reasonably priced for the portion you get. We will definitely be coming back!

We used to live In Hawaii. My husband is Tongan. We know what a good lunch plate is. I got the bbq chicken plate. The flavor is ono. My husband got the Kalbi and garlic chicken plate. Again the garlic chicken, so good. What I can’t get past is the portions and the price. There were four pieces of garlic chicken for an almost $18 plate. The barbecue chicken plate was about $15 for three little skewers. The value is not there for me. They do give you plenty rice to make up for the lack of meat though.

Owners get Aloha, and quick service. If the store’s overwhelmed it can take a bit but be patient, they human too. The speed that i destroy this food with counters the wait anyways. Cherry Jams too.
