At the time of this review, the place has 3.9 stars and that seems pretty fair. They have sushi (average/decent), what seemed like a grill where you collect ingredients and ask them to cook it like they do at Ghengis Grill (it was late so we didn't see them doing this) and the standard buffet setup. Some of the food was good (like some of the chicken items and egg drop soup), but some was bland and not so great. I remember the 'teriyaki' chicken didn’t have any flavor, the lo main being soggy looking and the fried rice was terrible (Panda Express quality it was not).I recommend that, if you go, grab a plate and get SMALL amounts of what you want to try first before committing to getting larger amounts. The ice cream machine was also of average quality, definitely not high-quality, but still good enough.I am not saying this place was bad or terrible, but it's just not the place we could call "our restaurant" in terms of being a regular place to go.Price at this time was $14.99 per adult person, no idea about kids. Masks encouraged for everyone to wear except at the table, but most people seemed to ignore that and staff didn't seem to care about enforcing the idea.
We went off peak on Mother's Day and the place was packed. There was plenty of variety, but, here's the thing...the food was not that good. We got some crab legs and they were so salty we really couldn't eat them. The chicken was nice and tender, but the sauces (sweet and sour and orange) were kind of off. We didn't have sushi. The woman's bathroom was absolutely disgusting and the floor was sticky. I mean, the whole floor. Shoe sticking sticky. Everyone in there was talking about how icky it was.So, I would say, typical buffet. Nothing to write home about.
Husband's birthday. Good, fresh food. Nice waitress who was very pleasant, kept drinks filled and brought out the birthday ?. She even sang happy birthday with our group. China City is our go to Chinese food place. Have not been disappointed.
The place is very big. The food was good... The customer service was the most "HORRIBLE" service I have had in 20 years. The lady clearing the used dishes actually demanded I give her a 25% tip on top of the already 15% tip that she included into the bill for herself. As she threw my cash back me and and said that wasn't enough!!!! I mean she left the plates piling up and she only served us water one time when we first got there. We had to hunt down the soda fountain and get our own drinks. Just a bad experience.
I had a great lunch with my cousins. All that food . It was hot and fresh. Actually watched them put new cook food out. So much good food and dessert lol. Tea was great. Fresh breweds.. no hurry. Just giggles and laughs. Was a great lunch oh ya the bathrooms were clean..
It's still our favorite spot for Chinese food after almost 18 years. I love all the ladies here. Always prompt and courteous.
My family and I took some friends and we went for the all you can eat crab legs and was hoping the buffet would be decent. What we found was a very dirty place and food that was almost non-edible. Items like orange chicken coconut shrimp and crab legs did not taste like any of that. The crab legs shown in the picture we're from the buffet and were the worst crab legs I've ever had in my life. The meat was tasteless and had a funny texture. I imagine it's the lowest grade crab they can get and it's been freezer burnt pretty bad. They say a restaurant cleanliness can be shown and how clean the restrooms are. Well there restrooms aren't clean and upon visual inspection you can tell that the restaurants not clean at all either. I was just happy that I didn't get sick from the experience. I think what we're dealing with is just extremely low quality food. I recommend you spend your money somewhere else.
Food is just edible. Very bland and basic. Sea food options are of the lowest quality. It was very busy… not sure why it’s so popular. If you like lots of just edible food, I guess this is your place. Staff were attentive and quick to move people through the restaurant as quickly as possible. I will not return.
They give you a glove to wear to get food. You have to wear mask when your up and getting food. They seat you away from other tables. I like all the food they serve. We have gone many times. Good deal!
The hostesses and staff are always so friendly. The price point is good. Kids enjoy the food as well. Very clean. It is a pleasant atmosphere all around and spacious.
