I was in the Phoenix area visiting a friend and this is his family's favorite restaurant. My friend and I ate there twice during my visit so I tried a few dishes. The Salt & Pepper Squid is amazing! The other dishes I had there were good. The staff knew my friend and asked about his family. The service was fast and the prices were cheap compared with what I'm used to.

Would not recommend. I purchased 2 entrees. Sweet n sour pork (described as deep fried porkChunks) with steamed rice. The pork was not fresh and tasted like it had been sitting in the seeet and sour sauce all week nothing but sogginess under lots of sauce. Rice didn’t taste fresh either and was super dry. Taste over all was less than ok. Second entree was orange chicken and fried rice. I’ve had better orange chicken at Panda Express ………….The fried rice was the only thing decent. Not even sure why the chicken was florescent orange, but hey … to each their own
Happened upon this restaurant when doing some grocery shopping in the same shopping center. Now we only come here for a bite when grocery shopping. Their flavor and taste of the dishes are spot on and very comforting. The sauces of each dish makes you want to eat even more rice with it. Their 3 dishes and a soup combo are very reasonably priced and the portions are great in comparison to other restaurants these days. The staff (Anna and Lilly) are super friendly and seems to know all the locals as they come in to eat or come by to pick up orders. This is a great restaurant for the taste, price and service and totally deserves all the support and business. Glad they made it through the height of the Covid crisis and wishing them all the best as they continue to thrive and grow.
My dad and I come here regularly. We're able to amend the menu for vegan friendly dishes and they taste great. If you like family owned small businesses and a humble dining area, Asian Cafe Express may be just what you want.
I spent my first year in Phoenix feeling totally hopeless about ever finding a decent Chinese restaurant. Then, Asian Cafe Express was discovered! I've dined in once and gotten carry-out twice and each time the food has been fabulous! I highly recommend the Creamy Chicken and Corn Soup (disclaimer: I add a little salt to it), Chili Sauce Chicken Dumplings (these are actually really salty - which I like), Beef and Vegetables with Brown Rice (SO good), and Boba Tea! The menu can be a bit overwhelming at first (as there are actually menus within the menu...if that makes any sense), but now that I know what I want I don't have to worry. Haha. I'd be interested in trying other dishes, but seriously, the beef and vegetables are so delicious I can't bring myself to stray from them yet. I've even had leftovers that tasted better the next day. Lastly, the portion sizes and prices are great! This is hands-down my favorite restaurant in the valley for Chinese!

This is a hidden gem. We have been coming here for years. You get large quantities of awesome food at a great price. It's not a fancy restaurant and that's part of it's charm. When you visit here, and I recommend that you do, tell Anna (the owner) that Dave and Lucy sent you. After going here for many years they know us well. We love the food and the people.
