We've been coming to Popo's for years! The service is always great and the food is delicious! When we have visitors in town, this is where we go if they are craving Mexican food. The attached pictures are from our last visit which was this past Friday. We got there around 6:30pm. The wait to be seated was around 20mins. Which isn't bad for a Friday night. Once we were seated some immediately brought us water, chips and salsa. He also took our drink order. Well we were waiting for our drinks our server came to greet us and confirm our drink order was taken. We order 3 soft drinks and a house margarita on the rocks. Not to long after we placed our order. The food came out hot and fresh within 15 mins. We ordered a Cheese Crisp with added beans, the Carnitas plate and the Mix & Match with a Cheese Enchilada and a Bean Tostada. Everything was excellent. The portion of carnitas you get is great. We had leftovers that I ate the next day as a burrito. So good!If you're looking for good Mexican food, this is the place to go!
The food was fantastic. The waiter and waitress were on top of it and did a very good job. The bartender made some wonderful frozen margaritas (I recommend the prickly pear). Bathrooms were well kept, clean and smelled good ?. I would recommend this place to anybody. We went at lunch time it wasn't too busy, there was enough staff to handle everybody just fine. Chips and salsa were good. I've got nothing bad to say about this place. Fantastic job popos!
There was a bit of a wait but not too bad. Restaurant could have been a little bit cleaner. Our menus were dirty with salsa and walls next to our booth were a bit dirty as well. Service was great. Food portions were big.
This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. I love both salsas sometimes we go just for chips and salsa. It is kind of pricey but the portion you get for the price is worth it. I haven't gotten anything I wouldn't recommend. . To describe it in one word I would say delicious!
A very friendly place, each and every person in the business that took care of me extremely pleasant. I felt the lunch combo number one that I got was nice-sized and well-priced. Machaca taco and machaca enchilada were great. The server to that came by came by frequently enough to serve me but not too much to be a bother.
The last four times I have gone to the Glendale location the food and service has declined. Tonight was the last straw. The waiter totally ignored me and the meat in the tacos were room temperature at best. When we asked for the meat in the tacos to be hot we got burnt meat. The manager seem to want to make sure we were happy but than never came back. We waited for our check for a while then the gal that was cleaning the tables brought me the check but no one came to take the payment. I went to the front to pay for it and was told the waiter needed to cash me out. My response was he ignored me the entire meal there is no way he is going to take my payment. I will not be back ever. I have been going to Popos for over 30 years and now the not only lost me but the rest of my family and all of my out of town guests.
We sat in back of restaurant. That wasn’t an issue however it could use some cleaning. We ordered the #1 combo. Not a fan. Refried beans appeared old. Or have been sitting in oven for extended period of time. The food was way to salty. Good indicator that much is canned. The beer was good. How does it get five stars?!?!?!
We were with a group of 8 people for a Sunday lunch. Not wanting a large meal I ordered the cheese crisp. . It was too greasy for me and not very good.
Portions are huge! I was full before my entire arrived. Service was great for a Sunday afternoon; quick polite. Never had to ask for refills. Prices were pretty good. Had a great time and had lots of leftovers.
Very good food and taco Tuesday hell ya today we are there for a Mexican pizza and it is very very good plus I got chicken strips very tender servers and stuff for very nice and very attentive.
