Don't get me wrong the food was good, Walmarts produce section is the best. As far as everything else, nah. Ordered the chicken sandwich dinner plate, asked to upgrade to a large drink. Ended up charging every single item separate for a total of $21. Chicken sandwich is served and uh what it was cut open chicken leg with the BONE STILL IN THERE! Won't be going back!
The rib tips tasted they were a few days old, they were dry and hard to chew. It was damn near beef jerky. It definitely was not fresh. I hate to be told when food is fresh, when that was nowhere near the case. Also I was trying to figure out why around the whole truck smelled like fresh meat was cooking, but the food was old tasting and hard. Too be honest I felt like I was scammed. Beans looked like they came out of can and wasn't even heated up. It was upsetting.
This was the worst food I’ve tasted in Arizona. My husband is from Louisiana and I’m from Chicago and we both put our thumbs down. The food taste old like it was cooked a couple of days ago. The brisket and ribs were dry, and gummy. They didn’t even have the side I wanted. But the sides where not cooked fresh. It just seem like they heated in the Microwave and served it
AWESOME BOMB FRESH HOT FOOD. My husband and I wanted to try something different and we had a mixture of taste. My husband wanted BBQ/Soul Food and I wanted Seafood/Soul Food so we said lets go to JJs Louisiana BBQ.... WOW We must say it was EXCELLENT. Very nice and clean restaurant. We loved the music as well...My husband had Brisket collard greens and mac N cheese. I had catfish collard greens and cole slaw Hush puppies. WOW. Its BOMB!!!!????????
If you want some good home cooking you gotta try their food! So good I love the fried catfish plate. Their brisket is amazing and their turkey legs are addictive!!
I had the worst of ugly luck picking this vendor at a Cajun festival standing in an hour long line where they sold cold jambalay. And it was like a version of what I can only (and frankly not sorry for this harsh term) describe as "prison slop" and tiny cold bites of what they advertised as" gator bites" for the most rip off price of any meal. The advertisment was not as fraudulent as the staff who didn't even cook the food to temperature and the staff was glaring at each other, talking in secret, acting real shady to certain customers which probably had something to do with certain "transactions". Don't let me forget the Rice was cold but for some reason they made a select few customers wait even longer for the jambalaya slop to heat up, BUT THE RICE WAS COLD???. It was the worst experience I've ever had. This restaurant is not what they say they are. I would have paid $15 for a half cup of Zatarane's Jambalaya over whatever slop they brewed up last minute for the unperformed amount of people that attended. Never again in my life will I ever go to this restaurant nor will I ever recommend this place even if they were the last meal on earth. Worst representation of Creole Cajun food I have ever had. By far hands down avoid this restaurant all costs. Also, even though this poor representation was so bad that it took me 24 hours of reflection to decide whether or not it's worth it to write this review, but it didn't ruin my perception of Cajun food. I love jambalaya. I was so excited to eat what I thought was "authentic", but betrayed I picked the wrong vendor for what was supposed to be a proper representation of a very historical, traditional and overly anticipated event. Maybe they get this right eventually, but I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, just the only person willing to make this prevalent for the next group of people they want to serve more shame at the next festival.
Visited at the Southwest Cajun Festival and was baffled by the price along with the amount of food that was given. The Jambalaya tasted like tomato sauce out of a can mixed with some vegetables. I paid almost 50$ for canned tomatoes and 5 “alligator bites” and 7 French fries. How can a business be okay with overcharging for something that they don’t even have on their regular menu. Ridiculous
Food probably would have been good if it didn't taste like lighter fluid or whatever they cook it with. We spent 70 dollars on a family meal and we can't even eat it.? Never again. Sides were fire. But all the meat was bad. Brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. Please fix this.
The family who owns and operates J.J's has had me as a loyal customer since DAY ONE. I used to be a regular every weekend at J.J.'s back when I first learned about their spot in the Downtown Glendale area. The owners are a nice family and I remembered how much they had gone through to get the shop open, the very first day I discovered them and their food truck that was parked out back. Today after a year of not having been to Glendale I came in and was pleased to hear Gospel music when I walked in. Positive, uplifting music. Praise the Lord! I was even happier to see a more spacious atmosphere and new art. Beautiful restaurant space! Nice upgrades! I ordered the Mac&Cheese which was made just right, the baked beans smoked to perfection, spicy fries and collard greens. The grape-flavored Kool Aid was a nice touch. Words cannot express how happy I am for this family and how proud I am of how they have proven their commitment to presenting quality BBQ food for the public to enjoy, and how far they have come. They have custom made BBQ sauces for sale, and I'm glad to see that part of their branding has come about nicely too. Their spot on the Historic Downtown Glendale avenue is well earned regardless of what any phony, unsupportive and hater types have to say. I made sure to stop in and see how they are doing and I'm genuinely happy to see things are going good for them. I will come back around soon again once I have more time on my hands. Keep up the good work. Thank you!
This is the worst tasting food that I have ever tasted in my life. The food has no seasonings. The green beans the greens taste like they were boiled and just water alone. The baked beans taste like pork and beans with cumin seasoning in it. I am telling you if you eat here and give this place good reviews you need to go see a doctor and have your taste buds checked. I am from Kansas City Missouri and I have never tasted anything so bland in my life. And he should be saying of telling people he's from Louisiana when people from Louisiana could way better than this. ???
