This is a new Chinese food place in the Santan Marketplace area. I tried it out based on a relatively high new rating that I saw. It is a nice restaurant with very excellent service and just average food.My first visit to Wei Wok in Gilbert was this Wednesday. I was interested in finding a good Chinese food eatery near my work. The restaurant is nice and spacious when you arrive. The tables and decor are new and you feel good about the cleanliness and atmosphere. The staff is very quick to greet you and seat you. They were really responsive, kind and efficient the whole visit.I ordered two dishes off of the lunch menu to try to get a sense of the food quality. These were the Pepper Beef and the San Shien. These were the lunch combos, which each came with a spring roll, crab puff and fried rice. The Pepper Beef was not that good, in my opinion, as it was a heavy syrup sauce rather than a drier, spiced dish that I expected. The sauce had a burnt taste, which isnt bad just something I don't like. The veggies were peppers that didn't work with the sauce. The San Shien was much better with a lighter, thinner white garlic sauce. It was highlighted by 3 meats- chicken, shrimp and beef, along with a selection of veggies from carrots, onions, legumes, and mushrooms. This was very good taste, although the chicken was so overcooked and soft it was almost mushy.The cost here was really good, and all dishes were reasonably priced. For me the food underperformed all other aspects of the experience, and I would have to choose carefully if I chose to return at all. With all the great other options available in Asian cuisine in the area, this is one to pass on unless you want to hunt the menu to find a winner.
Nice little spot with great service.Very clean and quality food.My only complaint was that they lean a bit heavy on the oyster sauce. If you have a sensitive pallette to sea food like me, you may want to request they leave it out.We had kung pao chicken and Mongolian beef and both were pretty good. The hot and sour and egg drop soups were both delicious. My wife enjoyed her tai tea. She said it was better than most.
This place is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in the valley. My wife and I have been so many times over the last couple years and we always leave satisfied. The portions are excellent for the price and we always have leftovers to eat later. The food is always hot and delicious and doesn’t sit heavy like a lot of other restaurants’ menus do. The owner and staff are always friendly and nice and the service is timely. It’s our favorite restaurant and we stop in every chance we get!
Quiet little place. The combos offer plenty of food. Both visits we've brought food home!
I came in for lunch and ordered the roast half duck. The service was quick and the duck was delicious. Crispy skin and tender meat. I mismanaged my own time and needed to leave quickly after realizing the time. My waitress was very attentive and got my check and to-go boxes quickly so I could leave. It was a very pleasant experience.
Their food is delicious and full if flavor. When I lived by Gilbert it was always my go-to for Chinese food. Portions are great at very reasonable prices. My favorite is their hot and sour soup along with their orange chicken.The staff would always recognize me and greet me with kindness! I hadn't had a chance to go in a while as I moved further away but they still remembered me even after months, which was such a great surprise.
Really nice restaurant. We went in for lunch and got great service. The lunch meals were pretty large, but very tasty.
I love Wei Wok! Fresh food, original recipe sauces, hefty portions, and friendly service. Let the photos show you! Their takeout is just as good too! They never skimp!
Service was fast and friendly. Food had good flavor and generous portions. I prefer lo mein to have veggies and meat not just noodles, and fried rice also to have bits of meat and veggies not just rice. The meat dishes were good.
Oh my goodness!! My new favorite Chinese food restaurant. Love the atmosphere great place to have a meal.
