Worth the wait. Great breakfast, nice servers. Breakfast tacos have a great chipotle sauce!
The food was not bad. I enjoyed the three meat scramble. It came with bacon, sausage, and ham, a side of spices cooked potatoes, and wheat bread. The only thing that needed improvement was the service. Our friend got their pancakes, but didn't have syrup. When we tried to get our waiter to help us they never showed up. So we had to try and get another waiters attention to get syrup. It probably wasn't the biggest deal, for some customers this can be a huge thing. Hopefully the next time we eat there it will be a better experience. ;)
Called ahead and asked for estimate wait time… they told us it was completely open. Which by the time we arrived, some how 7 groups were ahead of us. Not sure how that worked but waited anyways.From signing in to getting seated was only about 15 minutes. They move very fast and have outdoor waiting area only.From getting seated to getting food was moderately quick. About 15 minutes and all our food was in front of us. Serving sizes were the perfect amount.The corned beef breakfast was excellent, the healthy scramble was cooked perfectly and tasted great. My child had the Kids breakfast and wanted strawberries on the pancake. No complaints from her either!Overall great experience for first time trying this place out.

The service was particularly good. The staff is happy here. There must be a solid management team. The breakfast was excellent. I had the country fried steak, which is served over two biscuits. The sausage gravy was right on. I tried some of the corned beef hash too. It was great.
Since we moved to Arizona we have been coming here around 15 years.My in-laws first brought us and we fell in love with the food and atmosphere. The owner is always welcoming, warm, kind and cares about her customers. The entire staff always is extra kind they make you feel at home. The food is delicious every time not once did anyone have anything bad. Best restaurant in Gilbert. They are especially great for brunch!
Nice little restaurant maintained in a old style tradition of the area. Pancakes were delicious and my wife enjoyed her omelette also. Refills on coffee were appreciated. Only knock is that the bathroom is in another building which is close by. Maintaining the building in its traditional style means that there was no room for a public bathroom. Not bad but I couldn't give it 5 stars.
Good overall experience. The food was good but not great.
The Gilbert House is located in an old home with both indoor and outdoor seating. Although I doubt they do much carryout business my order was taken by phone and completed as I arrived. My chicken salad sandwich was very good, with chopped apples and not too much mayo. The bread was tasty and the side if greens had just enough dressing. Next time I be sure to go when I can enjoy the outdoor seating.
Great little house from the 1920s converted into a restaurant. The food was delicious and service was great. We can't wait to go back. Gotta have the French toast and country fried steak!
