One of Flagstaff’s most savory.
We were visiting from out of state, staying at a nearby Marriott property, and wanted pizza and salad to take back to our room. Our server suggested the carne dolce pizza which had a unique and savory flavor from the sage. I found myself wishing I had a side of Ranch to dip the yummy pizza crust in. We ordered a Caesar as well. It was a large salad but we only got one small cup of the dressing so we wound up eating half the salad with no dressing. Pros: Pizza was good, friendly staff, lettuce for salad was fresh, salad dressing was tasty. Cons: The pizza, while flavorful, seemed a bit sparse. Maybe I’m just used to what I make at home where I put on lots of toppings! The Caesar croutons were literally almost as hard as rocks. Both of us threw them away because we didn’t want to suffer broken dental work but the salad was a bit boring without them. It would have been nice to have two small cups of dressing instead of one which wasn’t enough. The hostess area where we needed to stand to place our takeout order was small and the hostess asked us (very politely) if we could move so that she could welcome incoming guests, but there was really nowhere for us to go and it felt awkward. Maybe management could reevaluate the space just inside the front door? And my biggest concern was that there was a large tray of 20 or so wide mouth pint jars filled with what I assumed to be drinking water right on the entry/hostess table. They were uncovered so that everyone who came in was breathing on them. This does not seem a good health and sanitation protocol no matter whether there’s a lingering pandemic or not! I have never seen such a practice in a restaurant before.
One of the best dinners I have had in a while. Brought me back to my days of back packing Italy. Everything from the salad to the pizza to the gelato was so flavorful and delicately crafted. We went on a Monday and got 1/2 off bottle of wine which was also out of this world. We are just passing through on vacation, but I will definitely be thinking about this meal for a while. In addition to the delicious food and wine, the servers were so personable and welcoming and the restaurant was a cute little hole in the wall. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Great location! Everything is perfect there: the building, the staff and last but not least the food! We had a salad, pizza and a tasty chocolate ice.
Very good pizza!! A little over priced but didn’t take away from the experience. We ordered two pizzas to go and it was around $40. We had visited the Grand Canyon and were exhausted. We called ahead and picked up from their walk up pick up window and had the pizza back at the hotel.
We loved this pizza and didn't mind the slight charring on the crust...it was so good and tasted very homemade. If you are looking for DiGiorno or Pizza Hut this is not the place for you... Staff was friendly and even gave us recommendations for breakfast joints which we tried the next day. Great spot!
Pizza toppings were really good, but Pizza was a bit burned. Starter was really great. Staff was really friendly. We sat inside which was ok, but I would recommend going there if it's warm and you can sit inside.
I have had pizza just about everywhere and I have to say that is the most intentional burned crust I have ever seen. Nobody could eat the crust. Burrata salad were just so so. Not sure where the high ratings come from - this place would be out of business in no time in any of the East or West Coast major cities.
Best pizza place in Flagstaff
Specialty pizza with sage, dates, mozzarella was to die for, as well as the best margherita pizza Ive ever had, as well as the bees knees lived up to its name!
