Best Sushi in the Valley- very high quality!
A tucked-away gem if you are interested in very authentic Japanese with a strong emphasis on uncooked fish. We are repeat customers and will be back.
Sushi was top notch. A little pricey, but worth it.
Shimogamo never disappoints itâs a lovely place and the food is always exquisite
Great except the table assigned
We have eaten at the restaurant a couple of times prior to this visit and everything was amazing. This visit was just okay. They were out of King Crab and we couldnât order our favorite roll. The tuna was stringy and the service was average. We were disappointed since it was our anniversary and we were looking forward to a great meal.
The best sushi in chandler and maybe Phoenix. Get the truffle amberjack to start!
We love sushi⦠so naturally, we had to try Shimogamo. The fish was some of the freshest weâve had in Phoenix- bonus points for that. The overall experience fell flat with our server who wasnât personable and was rushed the entire time. Asked for recommendations seemed like a burden. Meh.
I have long considered Shimogamo one of the top 3 sushi restaurants in AZ. And, they have never disappointed me or my guests. Fresh fish flown in daily from Japan and other fish markets -- they are fanatical about freshness, taste, and texture. Last night we had super-fresh uni -- from Santa Barbara. Uni and the the Toro and bluefin were amazing. I must say I was a little disappointed they were out of ikura, spanish mackerel, and fresh wasabi root-- but it was a sunday night and they are closed on Mondays, so gonna give them a pass here. Without exaggerating here -- I believe (over the past 2 years) I've tried every well reviewed (Top 25) sushi and sashimi restaurants in AZ. Shimogamo is my favorite because of the quality of their fresh fish. Last night we noticed they opened up a back bar and are offering new cocktails etc. But, I prefer a Kirin light and cold sake with my sashimi and sushi. We are not "roll people" so I can't provide a detailed review here -- but others that have joined us over the years think the rolls are amazing. But, I can't vouch for the rolls.
Best sushi in Arizona!
