Tried this spot out today and the food was amazing. We started with a jerk shrimp appetizer and festival. I had the fried chicken, curry shrimp, festival and plantains. Hubby had brown stew chicken, oxtail, rice and beans, and plantains. The food was delicious. I took one star off because the service was slow...the server was very nice and good at checking on us but there was bit of a crowd and she was the only one up front helping us all. So you may want to call ahead if you're in a rush.... otherwise the food is worth the wait!
Excellent restaurant. The food and service was amazing and I am definitely going to recommend this to others. In fact, the service was so good that when I called about losing my retainer there, they digged through the trash and found it for me. I can't say how thankful and appreciative I am of that. (: also, try the plantains!!
Very tasty food, the goat curry was outstanding, as was the shrimp and scallop coconut curry. Festivals (like sweet hush puppies) were delicious. Fried chicken was also great. A little pricey though, our family of 4 got 2 meals out of our order, and it was $110...
Peas and rice tasted like it had soap in it. Beef patties (I asked for these after the server forgot to add my 3rd item to avoid another 45 min wait) had extra thick crust with little meat and was room temperature. The 2 people behind me got their food before mineUPDATED RESPONSE TO OWNER:1. I was the only person when I came into the restaurant and first to place my order.2. You never had any complaints because you can't get beef patties anywhere else.3. No jamaican calls RICE AND PEAS, "beans and rice." We are not in a lousisiana popeyes4. Number 3 could also be the reason you don't think you're GUMMY rice and peas tastes like Palmolive dishwashing liquid
First time in after a friend asked me to drive her here. Having no experience with Caribbean food, I ordered the oxtail to go based on only have had oxtail Chinese style, and it was absolutely amazing. Ordered the salted cod with okra for my mom and she loved it. Can't wait to go back and actually dine in to try all the other items on the menu that sound delicious. The young lady that helped me and offered suggestions for next time was a gem. She answered all my questions with a great smile and was very pleasant to talk with. I appreciated her patience with me as I said earlier, I had no previous knowledge of Caribbean food. My new favorite place with a great staff.
Great food and strong drinks we had the shrimp and chicken, ox and sides! First time but we will be back.
Good food enjoy the services
Delicious food and great staff. I and my family had my 49th birthday dinner here. For a Saturday night it was pretty full and the restaurant was pretty stressed with diners and online orders. We waited longer than usual but was taken care from start to end. Everyone in our part of seven found and enjoyed every bit of our orders. One in our party is vegan and was beyond happy with their order. We ordered a lot of drinks both alcoholic and non and they were made to perfection. An overall great experience.
Excellent service. Food was great exactly what was needed when missing Jamaica. Chef Dean big up yourself brother keep on making Mobay and Jamaica proud. Definitely coming back when I am in town.
