The breakfast specials are ok! Nice portions. A most unique little town restaurant with its own personality. Super nice servers with an attitude!! Clean environment! Great Drink Prices that make a good day turn into a great day!
I love their Mexican food. Everything is made from scratch and tastes fresh. There's a joke in Texas, that Texans pick their favorite Mexican restaurant, by their chips and salsa. This place has the best chips and salsa I ever had!
They have a diverse menu with daily specials and it's just good ol home cooking I had the fresh turkey, stuffing real mashed potatoes and homemade gravy,I highly recommend them and the prices are great I was to full to try their homemade desserts and several flavors of ice cream.
My husband and I ate breakfast here. He ordered bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns and a biscuit with gravy. I had a waffle, eggs OE and hash browns. The hash browns were good and crispy and eggs were cooked just right. The biscuit was light & fluffy. The gravy was acceptable with a very faint sausage flavor. It reminds me of an old school diner of yester-year that I used to work at. The staff were all nice, helpful and VERY busy yet attentive.
Great food and service. I come here for the corned beef and hash breakfast. This is more of a diner feel and a family operation. I always smell the smoker going and it smells good. I have yet to try their smoked food. Maybe next time. Prices are reasonable, under $10 for my meal
After reading the reviews, we decided to give the Golden 9 a shot. Actually quite surprised, the food was fairly good, service was good, received the food in a timely manner. All in all will definitely make this one of our goto places for breakfast.
Stopped here after spending the night in our Motor Home at love’s Truck Stop the outside didn’t look too promising but we were in a hurry to start our day so we went over after reading some reviews and are we glad we did!!! Been traveling for almost 3 months now and this was the best breakfast we have had by far. Girls super nice clean and best of all food was great as well as the prices. Big portions cooked right and delicious. If we are ever back this way we will definitely come back here so good you won’t be sorry I can only speak about their breakfast but I’m guessing their lunch and dinner is equally as good. Big parking lot on either side of the street to spend the night in your rig Golden Spoon exit 200?
Don't waste your time. This place is awful. From the moment I went to wash my hands and the hot water was turned off, with a cheap bottle of hands soap in the contest, I could tell nobody here cares. They served me Country Time lemonade, an iceberg "salad", and when my steak and potatoes came out, I lost it. Instant mashed potatoes, instant gravy, 1/4 of a cob of corn, and the worst "ribeye" I've ever seen. It was ringed with gristle, totally unseasoned, undercooked, and so rubbery I had to spit it out. And the real kicker is they think that's an $18 steak! The ONLY reason this place is still in business is it's sandwiched between truck stops and a Motel 6. And if you ask me, it puts shame on the Motel 6 name. You'll get a better meal at Arby's, across the street.
I order all you can eat spaghetti, i was thier at 5:15 pm left thier at 6:30 pm all i was able to get was one bowl, had to ask for refill on drink, only thing this restaurant has going on is food was very good but service real poor when thier 8 table and 2 server, i just moved to this area and just because of service will be skipping this one. Even was tried sitting at table waiting on check after flag down waitress and still was ignored, went to register sit thier i guess i could have walk out and see if i was noticed, but not that type of person to do that.
Food was very good. Service extremely slow. Don't be in a hurry if you stop here. The waitress seemed to not know we were even Herr. We waited forever for our drink refills. Then wanted to order dessert and got completely ignored. So went to check out and couldn't do that either due to the slowness. Could have had a good customer for a long time. But couldn't get the proper attention. Wow. So not worth returning to dine in. You may never get to leave. I guess the all you can eat spaghetti is only what is in the first bowl because your waitress never comes back to ask if you want more.
