Stopped in for an adult beverage or two after golf. Thought about eats but had other plans later. Always a great place to relax after a round of golf. I have had many food items in the lounge, along with some great meals in the main dining room. If you are a fan of "The Duke", John Wayne, lots of pictures. If you are a fan of baseball, lots of pictures as the San Francisco Giants used this facility when they moved from N.Y. City to Francisco Grande as their spring training site. Recommend going to top floor of hotel, look down. Pool is shaped like a baseball bat, close to pool is spa that represents a baseball. Even the cover over the top floor balconies resemble a baseball cap. I used to work for the golf course, so know it well. It used to be the longest course in AZ to accommodate their big sluggers like Willie Mays and Willie McCovey. Classic golf course, lots of trees, great golf course. Oh, and lots of history. A must play, a must dining location. ?

Located at the Francisco Grande Hotel & Resort, this place is a legend until itself! Originally built, on a grand scale, to house the likes of Willie Mays, this place was specifically built to house the San Francisco Giants - 50+ years ago. Th man who occupied the penthouse was none other than Marion Morrison (aka:actor John Wayne) who shared his time between Newport California and Arizona. Today, it is an oasis in the hot Arizona sun - featuring a great golf course - and the seasonal home and training ground for the world's top soccer players. Certain areas are still reminiscent of its Glory Days. The pool is the shape of a large baseball bat - and the eateries....The Duke's Lounge and Legends Restaurant serve a simple but fabulous menu.

Do not eat here if celiac or have any gluten or dietary sensitivities, they do NOT care. Asked repeatedly to two staff of the red wine dressing was gluten free to which they answered while heartedly yes! It is gluten free! Being skeptical upon seeing a creamy dressing , I asked "are you sure?" To which they answered yes! Well needless to say I was itchy all over before finishing the meal and when asked kitchen supervisors, one said "I told him to say no" the other just said it was cross contamination which shows he doesn't even know what that means. They HD no sympathy for me whatsoever and have no idea how much I will now suffer for days! Never mind cancelling all other plans to rush home and take a Benadryl! Very very disappointed. I will not return.

Great atmosphere and great food. The service was fantastic! Prices were a little high for cocktails and food, but worth it in my opinion!

The staff is so nice, Food was very good. Love the John Wayne picture. Lots of history there

One of our favorite places to eat. Can be a bit pricey, but the food is delicious and service is good. Seating is comfortable, and the atmosphere is friendly, including the staff. I had a Stagecoach burger which is excellent and Mary had a salad with salmon which she enjoyed.

The food staff is exceptional in their efforts. The food is wonderful- well prepared and well presented. This gem of a dining experience is also well hidden. Go!I wish that the logistics of getting through a huge empty lobby, past a ballroom to find the actual restaurant was not so daunting. The bread and butter business of feeding the kids of the school overshadows getting in... but one you are in, you will continue your trek often.

Good food but not great service. Seemed disorganized and wrong food to wrong tables. Never tried me for a second drink.. Needs work but as mentioned... food was good.

The waitress was awesome and the food was delicious. We will go again.

Delicious pastrami ruben. Great service. Cool inside
