This review is specifically in Fairbanks, AK branch in Merhar Ave - I didn’t eat The food because of lack of cleanliness and proper food handling. First of all, the worker wasn’t wearing uniform or apron. He was using the same disposable gloves to prepare the food and for cash register. He dragged the pita on the counter without the food wrapping paper underneath. It’s already touching his clothes while rolling the pita. Seriously, how did this branch pass the food inspection? If you’re buying food from Subway you’ll see how they’ve been trained to change their gloves and put food wrapping paper and not just dragging it in the counter. It’s so disgusting!
Been there twice and both times my order was incorrect. I asked for no onions and got quite a few on my pita.
I was extremely disappointed during my last (and final) visit to Pita Pit. I ordered a particular Pita and received something totally different. The Pitas were poorly made and fell apart completely after the first few bites. Not only that but I was VERY sick that night which was more than likely food poisoning as my kiddos who also had a poorly made pita were sick as well. The employees were very nice but their professionalism and knowledge of making the food in general, was lacking. I think this particular location could benefit from improved employee training and maybe effective managerial oversight. Perhaps cleanliness of the food prep stations should also be properly observed. Honestly, I really struggled with giving this review even one star.
I’ve had some good experiences at pita pit, but that was before it changed management. They’ve always had pretty long wait times, but the food usually to make up for it. Not this time. Ordered ahead of time, got there just after it was supposed to be ready. It was not ready. I was told ten more minutes. 30 minutes later it was finally done. But I wasn’t upset until I opened my order and found barely any food in it. I ordered a quinoa bowl, and there was hardly anything in it. I also ordered avocado and there was none added. I wasted my entire lunch break waiting for the food, was still hungry, and had no time to get anything else to eat. Haven’t been this disappointed in a while.
Ordered through the site, but the order went to Doordash. Order never arrived. Called the store and they made it fresh. I even came in to pick up technically after they closed. Great customer service.
I actually like this place, but apparently they will not honor a gift certificate (not expired) due to a change in management. Changing management does not absolve a business of their debts and obligations. Dishonest.
It's okay, we usually order the ode to Athens and it comes out different every time. The tzatziki was also curdled...
My vegan hummus, falafel, and beyond meat pita was phenomenal! Clean restaurant as well.
The atmosphere of this Pita pit is very nice. I feel at home
I tried to order on Doordash at 11:04am and they immediately canceled our order at 11:05am, although it shows they were taking orders at that time. Probably won't attempt to order anything from there again nor go to the restaurant location. Very disappointing!
