We arrived in Fairbanks on the train from Anchorage and most of the restaurants in town were closed. We like trying Chinese in really out of the way places, and so decided to try Lin’s. We’re very glad we did. The atmosphere is great. A lot of money was spent doing the interior at some point, which was very clean, and they play 1940s music which was very different for a Chinese restaurant and we loved. Service was quick and friendly. Our entrees came with a lot of vegetables, which isn’t the norm, and they were firm and not over cooked or steamed — also not the norm. I’ve been to China multiple times, and eaten in a ton of different Chinese restaurants outside of China. Granted, this was still Chinese-American food, but it was really really good Chinese-American food. Factor in that Fairbanks is in the middle of Alaska, and we were impressed.
Best food in town! The sesame chicken and chicken rice is my all time favorite. ?
Only ever ordered take out, but definitely the best value for money asian restaurant I've found in Fairbanks. Always consistent and always good, while being reasonably priced. Will have to dine in sometime soon
Lins kicked someone out with Tourettes on 3/13/22. Wouldn't even serve or sit them. Made the whole party with this person leave. Then apologized to the whole lobby for the disruption as if someone with a disability is causing problems. Never coming here again.
My order never matces the descriptions on the menu. they add random ingredients and dont have a solid way things are made. some days its ok, others its garbage, waste of $.Found hair at the bottom of my food after I had eaten half(when I dumped it into the to go box, clearly it had fallen on the plate before they put my food on the plate. So it wasn’t cooked in. Had a piece of bone in an order of Lo mien that didn’t have meat :/ and finally found a piece of plaster/drywall in an order of beef and broccoli. The prices are good and the food was great up until those instances occurred. But they are very friendly
Lin's Asian Bistro: MOLDY Pad Thai ?? This is a hard review to write as we have really enjoyed this establishment over the years. So much so that they are where I decided I wanted to get my birthday dinner and I have done my absolute best to provide them an opportunity to make things right before sharing my experience publicly. Monday, my partner and I splurged spending over $150 between the two of us. Our meal that night was ok overall. Their rice has maybe gone a bit downhill (new chef maybe?), but the sushi was great. The only complaint is that we ordered an extra dish of Pad Thai to eat the next day and reheated it only to find the whole thing tasted strongly of mold. It was an awful experience, completely inedible, and we had to throw it out. I tried calling several times over several hours never once getting an answer or voicemail. I finally figured out they are closed on Tuesdays, so I ended up messaging them through their Facebook. Someone read my message that same day about an hour later and chose to ignore it. They have my phone number, my email address, and even my home address because we ordered deliver through their website - plenty of opportunity to make some effort to reach out even if Facebook isn't their favorite mode of communication. It's been almost 36 hours with no attempt whatsoever to make things right. Instead, it appears that our business doesn't mean anything to them and they have no intention to stand behind their work. I just can't believe that on a $150+ check, they are sacrificing a customer over a dish that's only $12.95, especially after we have had past issues with not receiving everything we order. I get it, they're probably understaffed, rushed, and things get left behind by delivery drivers, so we can live with mistakes lie that, but moldy food is far beyond excusable.
We ordered the chicken satay appetizer with peanut sauce, FBI sushi roll, lo mein, sesame chicken, kung pao, beef & broccoli, Mongolian beef combination dinners that comes with a fried egg roll, lo mein, fried rice, choice of soup (hot & sour, wonton, egg drop or miso). You are given a generous portion of food here and is better than most Chinese food in the Fairbanks area. Thank you for staying open and running during the holiday season.
Came here 30 min before they closed and was treated as if I came at the beginning of the day. Music from the 1940’s playing, beautiful interior and great service. I got the Singapore Curry Rice Noodles because I was curious and I was pleasantly surprised. Yummy distinctive flavors, large portion, served piping hot. The vibe here and service is great. They do have dine in. I will return to try a dinner special.
Food was good and service was decent late in the day. When I found a hair in my Roll, I sent it back and they offered me a new one free of charge and I wasn’t upset about it at all but, when I got home to enjoy it, I found another hair right on top of the new roll. It was impossible to miss and I noticed it immediately. I am immensely disappointed by this, wether it was on purpose or somehow an accident, this is unacceptable and I advise you not go here if you want good quality control for your food. I’ve had issues with food quality here before: Frozen Fish, Stale rice, old food, etc. if you’re looking for Asian food, pay the slightly higher prices and go to one of the countless businesses across town that offer better and safer food.
The service is just too rude. The food is not very good. Does not recommend if you have other options
