This resturant is fabulous. The wait is long, reservations are a must! We decided last minute to try without reservations. The bar area is first come, first serve. The lady that works as the hostess for the resturant isn't friendly at all. I asked if there were any tables in the bar area and she replied probably not, but check. Her entire demeanor makes you feel like you should leave and go somwehere else. I'm glad I checked it out. We had a great meal and a lovely waitress. Just don't be put off by the hostess. Once you are past that it is great!

Arrived in Anchorage on a wet evening ,could not book here as full however after asking a men in a car in a local mini market where to eat he said go to Simons and eat at the bar . Always go where the locals go and boy did the locals pack this place. Restaurant looked lovely however as we could not get in we turned right and queued for about 10 before we got a table, the place was heaving and an atmosphere to match, how do you generate a party atmosphere,have happy hour all night….Cocktail $7 each ,and fresh halibut caught that day ,perfect receipe for a good night.
Great stop on your visit to Anchorage. The stuffed halibut was awesome, my daughter had tuna which was also awesome. The atmosphere was pleasant, staff warm and friendly. Highly recommend this venue when visiting town.
So we left this restaurant as our last to eat at before we left and we made reservations to by pass the wait time. I enjoyed my dinner and the view was breathtaking. I do highly recommend this place. Food and service was great
Disappointed by their food - they definitely can’t handle a large group when restaurant is already full. Had a group of 30 here however food all came cold and not impressive. Others who had lunch there during the week spoke highly of it for lunch only but were not impressed by our dinner. I was not able to come in early to see set up for the event as it was not allowed by the guy managing that night which was odd. He was not flexible at all - I was allowed in only at time of reservation which is not how other restaurants do groups.
Good came out too slow. Details were lost. Points were applied to check without asking.
We were kind of bummed because it took over an hour to get our food. I understand staffing is short and other things but overall I was not impressed with the food for the price and the wait time for meal. Our waitress was great but otherwise I wonât be going back now that the prices have gone up for everything I get it but not gonna come back anytime soon
Great service and food/beverages. The hostess was aware of the birthday reservation and asked whoâs birthday it was immediately upon checking in. The table had a small confetti decoration which was a nice touch for the evening. The service from all of the staff was great.
Everyone loved their meal! The halibut cheeks, and the seafood pasta were the favorites!
