I'm a local Alaskan, called in my order. That wasn't a problem. Came in to pick up my order, ended up standing and waiting for about 5 minutes. No acknowledgement. I politely said to one of the cooks, excuse me. The owner, said "doesn't it look like we are busy?" I said, I was here to pick up my order. I then said, "I wasn't trying to be rude." He then said, "it looks like you were!" I was extremely surprised and took my order and walked out. Won't be BACK! The owner should know what customer service is!!
We initially wanted to go to Snow City Cafe because of the reviews. We got there, and it was crowded, noisy, and a long wait. We rolled over to Sandwich Deck on the other side of the block and were pleasantly surprised by the food options and great service. And the price was reasonable too. We recommend getting the reindeer sausage with whatever you order.
Went here after Snow City had a wait, a nice little surprise. Friendly staff, good food, and comfy diner vibes.
Came in around 1 for lunch on a Friday, didn't seem to busy. I got the Turkey Bacon and Ranch wrap, which was good. For my side I went with potato salad, which was a great choice. Service was very friendly, and quick. I'll definitely come back to try other sandwiches.
Wish I would have taken a picture of my Blue Cheese and Bacon Burger! It was delicious. Fries were crispy and hot. Great service. Thanks for a wonderful lunch.
Delicious roast beef sandwich on white bread, Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and potato salad for $14.50. The owner (Shane) put the divided sandwich and salad on two plates for us. He's very friendly and has a number of repeat local customers. Located on K Street right across street for Captain Cook Hotel. Order at window to the kitchen and pay - both dine-in & take-out.
Great service and good food at reasonable prices. Oh ya ....nice piped in music too. Latest menu updated.
Ate here as snow city was rammed. Great friend,y staff. Thai chicken soup was v tasty, with a good spicy kick. The halibut and chips were ok. Would eat there again.
One of the things I truly miss about working downtown is stopping in to “the deck” for a good sandwich for lunch. I enjoyed Shane’s upbeat but not over the top attitude and the food was always good. I will make it a point to come in on the weekends during the summer to show this place some love! The pricing is decent and ingredients are good quality. The Restaurant is clean and the employees are quick.
Wonderful service, great food! We arrived here with two hungry toddlers! The staff was amazing! They answered all of our questions with patience, they helped my friend choose her meal and provided alternatives for me when I asked for a sandwich they did not have. The enchiladas were great and my grilled halibut sandwich was so yummy! The tarter sauce was so good and full of dill! These guys were so attentive, they noticed our hungry babies and handed them a bag of oyster crackers while we waited for our meals, which arrived quickly. They checked in on us and passed by with smiles and good vibes. We will be returning without a doubt. I live a few minutes walk from this place, it's so nice to know that I've found a neighborhood gem! My only wish is that they were open a little later.
