Like in a movie but better. Cool looks, atmosphere, service and really delicious breakfast. Definitely a return next time in Anchorage
I love diners, and this one is my favorite in town. It's clean, has a classic diner aesthetic, and the traditional breakfast always satisfies. The bacon is thick and the portion overall is filling. Some other diners in town can seem dirty and aged, Sami's is the best option to guarantee the environment and service won't gross you out haha
I would not recommend City Diner to any groups larger than 10, our group of 10 waited for 45 minutes without begin seated (we knew it could be an issue with just walking in so we called 2 days ahead to RVSP but was told one wasn’t needed, to call 30 minutes before arrival~ in which we did). While waiting many groups of 2-4 were continually being seated. It wasn’t hard to figure out that City Diner isn’t designed for groups larger than 3-4 maxed. We did go to another local place which accommodated our group with a short notice, food was great too!
Good food, hot, quick. Friendly staff.
When you are out looking for lunch or breakfast in Anchorage here is a go-to place. This diner has the old 50's era feel and the traditional diner breakfast & lunch fare. ( Truth be told they probably have dinner too but we all did breakfast or lunch food). The food was good, the service was good and fast and the prices were fair. The milkshake was good too !!
Diner experience that surpassed expectations. Great service and fantastic food. Best rueben stacked with cornbeef on a nice rye bread. Delicious milkshake that included the mix cup. The meal was served within 15 minutes of my order. This was the best rueben west of Detroit in my book!
Our service and meal were both very good. This is your typical diner with booths in a row around edge.
We stopped here after our flight into Anchorage for breakfast. Very good food and great service. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt. Prices were a bit steep for breakfast I felt, but nothing too terrible. Definitely would recommend!
Best Greasy Spoon in Anchorage!Such a diner delight, this diner was a hit. Great atmosphere with all the bells and whistles that makes greasy spoons special to me.Great menu choices with pretty reasonable prices for huge food portions. Only negative was being out of apple pie. I can't dink them for that!Tater tots were on point just as the onion rings. Amazing grilled crust on both sandwiches. Ice cream was phenomenal in looks and taste.I will make sure to be a regular and bring friends. A greasy spoon is a term of endearment in my eyes. A hard working person place to get a decent meal at a decent price. Better than home made meals with great staff.
Food was really good and service excellent. I had the French Toast and it was delicious. Love the vibe and decor
