Things I look forward to from a Bar-B-Q shop are the sides as much as the meat selections. It has been disappointing after a couple of visits.Greens and baked beans lack flavor. The Mac and Cheese is made with different shaped pasta. The problem is that the sizes of the pasta are not cooked separately and are not all cooked well. It's an interesting concept that isn't working.Cornbread is super dry and lacks flavor.Catfish dish isn't filets, it's strips that were overcooked. The ribs were amazing.
The owner refused to help get an order together because it’s not her job but it is her job as a store owner to run things smoothly without chaotic wait times you ever see that show by Gordon Ramsey “Kitchen Nightmares” that’s her in real life see for your self it’s dirty the employees are rude and grumble because they have to cook “unlike other places” lol what a joke she was standing there putting on her chapstick and going through personal belongings the whole restaurant is filthy!!!! I can’t imagine the back especially coming from quality control experience it was a horrible experience and it wasn’t even for myself! The food on display was boiling and looked like yesterday’s leftovers and dried out I highly recommend AVOIDING this restaurant for your health sake!!
When I arrived the person at the counter taking orders was on the phone talking to someone. It didn't sound like it was even business related. after waiting for about 5 minutes, she left me standing there and went to help someone that walked in after I did. When she finally got around to taking my order I asked for a Philly cheese steak sandwich which she told me they didn't have. I then ordered a brisket sandwich. I paid and waited at the counter for around minutes and finally thought If have a seat and wait. after about minutes I went back to the counter and asked ii myminutes. After another sandwich might be done any time soon. I was told perhaps another minutes I finally got my food. I can't imagine how it could possibly take or more minutes to make a brisket sandwich but apparently it is somehow possible. The sandwich itself was ok, but a little light on BBQ sauce. There was also a lot of fat. If I had a coupon for a free meal I'd still skip this place.
Oh, man!! This place is out of this world!! Catfish and greens were amazing but save room for the peach cobbler!! I'm from the south and this was just like home. We'll definitely be back.Laissez les bon temps rouler!!
My experience at Roscoe’s F. F.T.S. Was so good I’m going back!!
Had the chicken and waffles for lunch. Absolutely delicious and the best French fries I’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back.
Waited over an hour for our food and it was absolutely terrible. The Mac and cheese had no flavor to it and I poured the oil off of it. I ordered pork chops and again no flavor and VERY dry. We also ordered fried shrimp and you could taste the frozen in them. My husband orders a french dip that again was very dry. So very very disappointing. We will never eat here again and I will tell everyone I know to NEVER eat here.
Food is AWESOME... We've been missing good bbq and this definitely reminds us of back home. Have gone three times now and it's consistently delicious. It is a bit of a wait, but it is WELL worth the wait. Roscoe's is a top 3 for sure!!
My favorite is the catfish sandwich. This time I also had the collard greens. Yum yum!
While driving to the state high school basketball tournament, we passed Roscoe's Catfish & Barbeque and I knew in an instant that we had to try it out. The aroma while driving past was tantalizing! Everyone at Roscoe’s was very friendly and accommodating, and the food is authentic and incredible! It is the type of restaurant that incites a desire to order everything on the menu. Our group ordered just about every item available and every single person was stuffed and very satisfied with the delicious food. In addition to the amazing victuals, Roscoe came out and checked on everyone eating three separate times. I will always visit Roscoe's Catfish & Barbeque every time I am in Anchorage.
