After going to three other places in immediate area and having ridiculous wait times we went to this restaurant and had a very good meal. Our waiter, Sarper, was very polite knowledgeable and friendly. My wife had the chicken Parmesan with vegetables and it was very tasty hot and delicious. I had the fillet with mashed potatoes and vegetables which was also very good, fresh, tasty and hot. This is a great alternative to the pub atmosphere of several other places very nearby and we would highly recommend this place.
We went here with 2 other couples. You need reservations. We had Rodney as our waiter and he was great. Food and drinks served with perfect timing. We had read about the appetizer flight which was awesome and enough for 6 to share. 2 of us had king crab legs and they raved about them (price has gone up everywhere for these - they were $130/order). I had seafood gemelli and my wife had sockeye salmon which were both excellent. It was our anniversary and they gave us a free tiramisu dessert. Very nice atmosphere. Recommend this place highly.
This restaurant has a great selection of Alaskan fish dishes. The service was excellent. The restaurant serves its own brewed drinks as well.
I'm so glad Orso reopened after the COVID pandemic shutdown many Anchorage restaurants. A world without Orso would be a sad world indeed. The environment is upscale, but not so much that you feel out of place in a nice pair of shorts and shirt. Service is second to none, ad is the food. If you are looking for fresh sumptuous upscale American food, look no further. The lamb shank is famous, as is the chocolate tort for dessert.
I've been to Orso twice since they re-opened from covid. It is an Italian themed restaurant. The staff was very nice and professional both times. The waiter we had was great and communicative. My date for both nights is from Italy and he was quite delighted with the selection of wines Orso offered. A good place to go whether your a local or a visitor.
The food was delicious, but the service provided by Jamie, really took the whole experience to a whole new level. The triple appetizer was great. Really enjoyed the spinach and pear salad. The tiramisu was on point.
This used to be our favorite restaurant in town. We moved away In 2019 and came back up last week for our wedding. My sister has been here twice and requested we go there for her birthday...everything was off. We had reservations but weren't seated on time...not a big deal, grabbed drinks at the bar. The server never told us his name, never asked how the food was once we got it. Left us without water and 2 of us never got drink refills until almost all of us were done eating. A half eaten plate of lamb was taken and thrown into the trash when we were in the middle of a conversation, and our friend was planning to take it home with him but he was never asked. The best meal was chicken parm but we came here for the seafood mac n cheese, which they no longer have. Two plates were ordered at the table that were the same thing, but one had way more food and the cream sauces were obviously not the same...two orders that are the same should never be sent to the same table looking and tasting that different. My friends parm noodles had gemelli noodles mixed into his spaghetti noodles as well. Our server didn't end our meal by thanking us or wishing us a good night... none of us will come back to a place that was once our favorite.
Although the dining rooms was already full, we (4 of us) were able to sit at a table in the bar. The seating was just as comfortable as one would find in the dining room. We found the service excellent and very timely. One would never know that this was the bar area. Our food was excellent, especially the chicken pasta dish. The pasta is homemade as is many other dishes. Although you are in a major fish area, I cannot emphasize that it would be worth for one person to get the pasta dish. Even the house salad was excellent as was the halibut that the others at the table had ordered. I cannot emphasize enough that this place is definitely worth trying.
OMG! Can you say amazing! We had a fabulous evening at Orso! We started our meal with an antipasto appetizer paired with a delicious cab. Next, our meal was suburb followed by a trio of wonderful desserts. What made our experience even better was our friendly, efficient waitress, Rachel. She made our last evening in Anchorage memorable. Her friendly demeanor was appreciated.
Stopped for early dinner before super early flight back to TX tomorrow morning. Calamari appetizer and clam chowder was good. King Crab legs were very good with all the sides. Hubby had the Salmon and enjoyed it as well. Would recommend. Would return to eat here again.
