We have lived in Anchorage for over 40 years. This was our first time at Norton Seafood House. It will be our last. They were out of seafood, mostly. ( Really???). I got the only thing they had left to offer. The halibut fish and chips. Oh, dear! The fish , ($30 for fish and chips, ridiculous even by airport standards) was the color of chocolate. What worse thing can one do to fish than overcook the hell out of it? Yet they served it that way. I ate two pieces because I was hungry. There were four on the plate and I was unable to foist the rest off on my usually ravenous spouse. Fries were nearly adequate. Even the coleslaw was limp and slimy. Yuck, yuck, and yuck! Never again!

I figured that stopping at Norton Sound Seafood would be my last chance to try to get fresh, Alaskan salmon, being that the salmon that I ordered at Fletcher's was basically a piece of dry, overpriced rubber. Wrong.Boy was I wrong! There were only two other tables in the restaurant. A man sitting at the bar and a couple sitting at a table. Other than those two checks, I was nearly a lone diner in the entire restaurant.Though I was one of only two other parties, the hostess sat me in the back, near the kitchen door, next to a table where all of the staff-on-break were sitting, laughing, and gossiping. I wasn't in the mood to hear their un-busy staff giggling and gossiping about other people, so I asked the hostess if I could move to a table where I wasn't tucked away into a dark, back, corner, with the staff. In the "Colored Only" section.I ordered the Alaskan Salmon burger and after waiting for my food for nearly 45 minutes, a waitress brought me the order, along with the explanation that the food took so long because I moved tables. So there was an attempt to gaslight me into believing that I somehow created the situation for a salmon burger to take 45 minutes to prepare. Though there were only 2 other checks in the entire restaurant.I caused that by moving to a better suited table. The piece of salmon that was the salmon burger was so overcooked that the color was an unnatural neon pink, a cartoon-like neon pink that nearly glowed in the dark. I had such a hard time masticating its overcooked, dry, chewy consistency, that I was unable to finish the burger. I just left it. As much as I wanted to eat it, it was so poorly prepared that I just gave up on it. At least the fries weren't bungled. After waiting 45 minutes for that meal, I understood why it took 45 minutes. The chef was probably cooking that one piece of salmon for the WHOLE 45 minutes. He just put it on the fire and left it, came out to the dining room and started walking around on the concourse. Looking lost.Extremely poor service here and even worse food. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my enemy. My airline had better food and I didn't have to pay for it.

Nice staff. Server was helpful with good Alaskan beers. Suggest the halibut fingers they weren’t too fried mostly fish and the fries were crispy! 5/5.

We had the fish tacos and salmon burger. Both were great! Highly recommend getting fries or a side salad with the tacos.

This restaurant is on both sides of security. We came here for a quick bite. It does take airline voucher’s. I got the fried cod and my wife got the salmon. Mine was really good. Hers was just ok. It has a full bar also. Service was quick and good.

Over priced & Spice-rubbed Alaskan Halibut was dry. The spice was ok, but the portion was small. We ate in the shop just outside of security.

Was in town for a day trip for Doctor appointments. Had little time to stop and eat. Was not impressed with stopping for quick lunch at Norton sound seafood. My daughter’s burger was cold and dry cheese on top. Fries were salty and also cold. The table behind us returned their burgers as well. He said they were cold and dry. They manager came to apologize, which was nice. Service was not good. The waitress came to give us our food and focused on other tables and the bar. I had fish and chips. Same thing cold salty fries , halibut thrown on top cold. I do not recommend this place, I do not like writing bad reviews but I know this will not be a place I stop by again. I stopped by there since it was close to TSA, had two knee injections and didn’t want to walk too far.

Great experience. My husband got an IPA that he sent back due to sitting in the line and being old. But...the Bud Light and Prosecco were excellent! Calamari was excellent and the crab shrimp roll was good. French fries were excellent. We are happy we stopped here to wait for our flight.

I enjoyed my time here. Needed to relax after a long day of travel. Was able to substitute the Crab for Salmon in the Caesar Salad and it hit the spot. Thank you to the Cook, Bartender and The Lovely, Alecia! Happy Holidays!

Walk on by. The Cesar salad sits, pre-tossed, in a container all day, getting wetter and wetter. At this price, yes, you actually CAN afford to pay someone for thirty seconds to toss may Cesar salad fresh to order.
