Well stocked grocery store (that used to be local but is now owned by Safeway). Open until 1:00 a.m. at some locations. Hoping they'll get there 24 hours stores back eventually.
Accidentally got diet instead of regular soda for a family member that couldn't drink diet. Wanted to do a straight trade for exact brand, just regular instead of diet, and was told it wasn't possible without the receipt I'd already tossed. Refused to look up my phone number or use my card that it was purchased under for verification. Angela, the manager, refused to even come out to talk to me about the issue. Was told there were issues with theft without receipts but given it was a straight exchange that obviously didn't make any sense in the situation. Some amazingly kind customer overheard the conversation and exchanged his regulars with mine. Thank you kind sir!
Very nice store. I stopped to just pick up a couple of things for a pot latch. The floors and displays are clean and there is a great selection of produce. The shopping lines are well managed and shoppers are not pressured to purchase a bag if they don't want or need one. Great place to shop.
Best flowers anywhere. The garden department is amazing. Even if I'm not planning on getting anything it's my first stop. FYI I usually end up getting something. ?
The 5 stars is for Carrs on Northern Lights in Anchorage. Top notch customer service. I found a product in this store that all the other Carrs I had been at were out of stock. I had asked at my cloest Carrs in Eagle River if they would order this item which they never did. At Northern Lights she had what I needed in stock but in smaller bags. A wonderful lady helped me find what I needed and OFFERED to order me more and took my number. This Carrs is worth going out of my way for. A very good store. These days many stores can make you feel like a bother for asking for anything. As if you should be grateful to shop there. This Carrs makes me feel like a wanted consumer.
The store is convenient for me because of the location but it has shortfalls in the display/inventory department, the cost of the the merchandise is also exorbiant compared to other retailers. A recent example of this is the lack of the French Vanilla creamer that I prefeI'm able to purchase the coffee mate creamer from another major retailer for $240 while Carrs charges $4.99 for the same item.
Came to the shop to get just a water at 12:50 and they just closed door just on front of us. They said register closed at 12:50 but they had 20 customers inside. How u cash out people if u turned off registers??? 0 stars
Overall the produce is amazing, everything really is fresh. I go to midtown Fred's but nothing beats it shopping here, I love everyone. Keep up the good work
Carr's continues to have better quality & selection of meats, fruits & veggies. For the most part well stocked too.
