I been coming to this location many years. Never had problems nothing. Until just few minutes ago. I went in to buy a OFF THE COUNTER CHILDREN BENADRYL, AND TYLENOL, To my surprised the cashier asked me for an ID because it such a drug and is danger for children. My first question to her was since when that was enforced to check ID?. And is for children? Spoke to the manager after that she told me she’s been working there 20years and they ALWAYS check customers ID. SHE SAID JUST SHOW US YOUR ID AND ENTER YOUR DOB. Lies!!! I than ask her show me where it says u must check ID for a children off counter meds. And than I’ll give u my ID so u can enter it in your computer. She said oh sorry we don’t have any. RIGHT!!! I have 5 children and my oldest 15yrs, not once I was asked to show or enter anything to buy a children benadryl or any children off counter meds ever!

The Abbott Road Carr's is my go to grocery store. They always have what I need and a lot of the extras that I want for special occasions, like deli cheeses, cold cuts, wild caught seafood, and artisan breads. It isn't so big that it takes all day to walk around the store to complete one's shopping. The department heads are always very helpful, especially in produce and floral. I've had them help me select ripe melons and put together special flower arrangements, all with a friendly attitude. The store and parking lot are always clean. Pricing is reasonable. The pharmacy is often slammed, but they do a good job filling Rxs. I also like having a branch of a credit union available there. And, the Starbucks is convenient.Although this is no longer a locally owned chain and the nationally owned corporation is known for union busting and low wages, they seem to be holding with the previous employment and wage policies. I like spending my money in a place where the employees are treated with dignity!

Great mostly, except they won't stock- the Coffee Cola Zero Sugar, love it & I know others in at least Washington love it too. I inquired a few times to no availability, no nothing & Safeway in WA carries.

Used to frequent this location on the south side but now consider it cost prohibitive to do so even with my higher than normal income. With my income I'm expecting much better freshness of ingredients, and for some reason Carrs Safeway is one of the riskiest places to buy when it comes to old foods. Old produce, old expired goods, inflated prices on certain staples which should be really inexpensive. I saw coconut milk at $6.50 which means I cannot be a thai person and survive, and my desire is to be temporarily thai in my diet. A case of the same coconut milk is 10 at the bulk store for too much of it. This is not a complaint of coconut milk. The single overpriced item and risk of expired goods, or goods that are oddly old-tasting is really representative and generalizable within the products of this Carrs Safeway, and by policy and procedure seems to honestly extend to all of the others in town. "Why is the food old and why are some prices for cheap things ridiculous?" I would give a higher rating, but I gave a one because they perform a public service and I feel they are doing some serious disservices. I can hardly force myself to go there, knowing other stores like Walmart and Fred Myer are cleaner, fresher, and don't seem to be trying to take.

This Carrs is always clean and way less crowded than other stores. Their hatch caso is amazing and worth the trip by itself. But the produce always seems better than the other stores in Alaska. It seems to be healthier and last longer. A better experience for shoppers I would say.

Carrs is a pretty cool supermarket, almost like Publix in the South from Florida through Virginia, and they have everything you can find. The staff was warm and welcoming, best supermarket in Alaska, and the best part about it is that they stay open later than Walmart, and I would visit Carrs in Alaska the next time we visit Alaska.

This is my preferred Carrs so 5 stars, but I think there’s something wrong with your sales system. Entered my phone number and it didn’t discount anything. I wouldn’t have gotten much, so definitely not looking for any money back but wanted to let y’all know.

carrs on huffman is close to my house so it’s convenient to ride my bike there, they are also pretty cheap, prices aren’t that high, very affordable so i definitely recommend shopping for daily needs and necessities like groceries, the costumer service is great too, the manager is very friendly and i always get the best help from employees when i need it. love it.

I mostly go to this Carrs because they are open later then Walmart or Fred Meyers. The prices are higher, but I guess that’s the price I pay for not going earlier. As far as the store is concerned, the employees are always helpful, the store is clean, there’s not a bunch of bums sleeping on the sidewalk, and the general atmosphere is good. I just recently started going to this store again because they must have gotten rid of the night manager there, she was awful! But I don’t think she’s there anymore.

This Safeway Carrs has removed their pin up community board. That means, people in the community can no longer post community events and ads, which especially during covid and at the end of it, our community contact has suffered. Instead of growing and supporting community events and ads that supports the community contact and communications w one another, this Safeway store eliminates community support, and is therefore not community minded and dissociative w our community. This means Safeway as a place that attracts people in the community is no longer valid or worthwhile since supporting our community especially at the end of a pandemic, we are not important to Safeway. This is a clear message from Safeway, that community events,, add and all things that bring together and unite people in our community, is not important to this Safeway. Fred Meyer and New Sagaya still have their community supportive boards. Go there and shop, not at this Safeway Carrs, because they actually show true care and support for the people who shop them. Do not shop at this Safeway store that is not a key part of and does not care about or support people in our community.
