Food was bussin, wonton soup, general tso's chicken, and mandarin chicken were good. Nice and crispy chicken, however service was quite lacking even when we were the only ones in the restaurant. All in all deseeving of 3 stars, with better service and some music to heighten the atmosphere it would deserve at least 4 stars.
Still one of the best places to get a delicious meal for under $8!!! The broad selection of Chinese cuisine is outstanding! I had Shrimp with Broccoli, Egg Drop Soup, Egg Roll, and Fried Rice. The meals are accompanied by noodle chips and the traditional Fortune Cookie. The food was excellent, and served quickly! I highly recommend!
Not the highest quality of food, but it's reliable and consistent given the price and easy location. Dining dollars is a good plus. Get the Hunan Chicken.
Great experience! Sesame chicken is always perfect and the service is always so friendly!
Food and staff are really great. Ever since they started taking dining dollars the food quality went down, but the staff is nice as ever.
Dear Lord I'm not sure where to start on this...Tasteless wontons.I had a beef lao mein that tasted like nothing except soy. Reminded me of Chinese food you get at the mall. The only bit of the entree that was good was the small amount of green onion that was present - at least that tasted like it had not been cooked 4 hours ago.If you don't have taste buds you might like it!
Ok, so I have a few bones to pick with this place, especially with there being so many good Chinese restaurants in the area (*cough*LaiLai*cough*Mr. Chen*cough*). I had somebody tell me that this place was pretty good, but the only part of my meal that was edible was the chicken. The egg roll tasted like it was bad or really old. There was nothing in the fried rice at all and was very bland. Like, an egg wouldn't have costed that much to add and it would have made a world of difference. I honestly have no idea why their prices are so high when the food isn't that good. I paid $12 (TWELVE!!!!) for a lunch special with a $2 tip.The only thing I will say is that the chicken itself was perfectly prepared, but the rest of it just ruined the experience.
The food was terrible...noodles came out cold, shrimp was half cooked and a waitress cussing like a sailor throughout the restaurant. Just called to talk to management and all he would say is ok , I said Sir is that all you have to say? He said what you want me to do? I said you don't need to serve half cooked food, cold food and you need to pay attention to your waitresses and the service everyone is getting. Someone is going to get sick. They tried to tell the waitress about their food and it was totally ignored and attitude was giving towards them. By the way this was in Tuscaloosa AL!!!!!!!
We are coming from Vancouver,bc and have traveled often to Hong Kong, so we have probably much higher expectations. We tried our go to items that we gauge new restaurants and what we got didn't meet our liking. We'll just chalk it up to them cooking too a different region of Chna style that we personally don't like. Your mileage may vary. Service was OK.I did notice while there that there were a few tables that needed bussing that night and so when clients came in for dine in they had no tables to seat them at immediately. It was like that the entire time I waited for my take out order and there were more tables empty than occupied.
If I want Chinese food, Swen is my first choice. I come here for take out frequently. Each time I get something different, and I’ve enjoyed every dish that I’ve had so far. They give you a LOT of food for a good price.
