We had a good first visit to this restaurant. I had the pasta and salad. Maddie, our server, was very helpful. I don't like strong beers so she made a suggestion that was right on the money. Great outdoor seating. And the bill was under $100 (excluding tax) for four people. You can't beat that. We saw friends we hadn't seen in a while. This was a great place to catch up.
I went there with a party of seven and the service was top notch. I had the pork chop that was 2 1/2 inches thick grilled to perfection and would melt in your mouth. I had 2 sides pimento cheese mac and cheese and it was moist, creamy and delicious. The other side was collared greens that was moist and scrumptious. They offered everything from gourmet cheeseburgers to chicken fingers and bacon wrapped meatloaf with cheese grits. I promise you you will LOVE Southern Ale.
Awesome guest experience. Food was excellent and customer service even better. We took our daughter to see University of Alabama softball and stopped in for lunch prior to game. The owner unsolicited created an introduction, autograph and picture with Coach Patrick Murphy (UA Softball Coach) for our daughter. Overall Tuscaloosa was great and Southern Ale House is a must visit!!!
Disappointed with my to go order. I've never ate sit down at this restaurant. I ordered medium steaks, they are a little above well done, therefore zero flavor. Called and questioned the bill, was told the miniature side salad that was offered as one of the 2 sides with a $26 steak actually was a $2 upcharge. Not worth $2, certainly an additional $2. This is not noted on the menu nor was it mentioned when I placed the order. I expect to pay well for a good meal but this was a true disappointment. I will think twice before ordering from here again.
I wa here for a graduation and the food was plenty tasteful and service was great.I would be back in a minute .i was very impressed with the flavor and the chicken tenders are huge.
Rated 4, should be a solid 5 stars! Friendly service and best pub food we've had in many, many years. Unique preparation of favorites and new dishes like Chipotle collards. Don't miss the French fries; hom8 style that is beautifully done. Burgers are noteworthy, cooked to perfection and flavorful in each bite. This is a must visit in Tuscaloosa, AL.
The food was delicious. The waitress was so nice and sweet. She was very patient and I was patient with her. She was doing 6 tables at one time. She was multitasking very well. I don't know her name. I wish I would have gotten her name and then I could have given her recognition.
This is my 2nd time eating here. But 1st time rating. My service was good but not excellent (see takeaways below). My food came out hot and fresh. Food was Delicious. Today, I ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries, Bama Chicken Sliders (ask for extra bbq sauce) and Adult Strawberry Lemonade. Food was filling & I feel worth the price. I also got some answers to a few questions I had.- Tuesday Burger Special: It’s only a special if you’re drinking beer. Buy a burger and get the beer happy hour price. Happy hour is Mon-Thur 3-6 pm. So depending on the time you go, its not really a deal.I would definitely eat here again.Takeaways- I did not know my server’s name- I was not provided with napkins
Excellent food! Great service! An excellent selection of very fine bourbons and scotch.I would highly recommend it and we plan to go back.
Was excited to go here from reading the reviews. Did not live up to the hype. We had the Bama Sliders which were amazing! However, that was it. I had the Yardbird sandwich and it was the most rubbery chicken I have ever eaten. It took forever to chew. Clearly heated in the microwave. My guest had the chicken biscuit with bacon and couldn't get a good bite because the crust on the chicken breast was so hard. Maybe we came on an 'off' day but I wont be back. Eating out is expensive, so you want good food. The 2 stars are for the Bama Sliders.
