We had the best meal in a cool restaurant. DQ our server took great care of us! We will be back! The crab dip is so yummy! Red snapper was delicious.
This place is awesome. Great service. The seafood is fresh and tasty. I got the red fish and it was perfect. The Bloody Mary is fantastic. It is better than a lot of seafood restaurants on the coast. Top quality!
We really enjoyed this place. Definitely an upscale restaurant. They definitely have their oyster game down as the name of the restaurant suggests. We had their fried oysters and I also had their gumbo. It was all good, although my wife's asparagus was a bit woody. The cheesecake was very good, and my wife loved the half shell salad. Service was excellent and the decor was charming.
Visited Half Shell Oyster House for dinner. The seafood bisque and gumbo were both delicious. The shrimp and grits as well as the seafood pasta were off the hook delicious. The seafood potpie was good; but, not what I was expecting. My favorite dish was the sweet potato creme brulee. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very inviting. The service is spot on we did not have to ask for anything.
It's an attractive restaurant. The service was good. This is our third visit here . We had herb encrusted Mahi and grilled Redfish, both of which were overcooked. The Mahi tasted like it had been breaded and frozen then reheated. The Royal Red shrimp were good. If we go back we'll probably stick with oysters and shrimp because the fish dishes we've had are not very good.
There for Sunday Brunch. Didn’t get what we ordered. Had to ask about our drinks twice, came half way through meal. Food was mediocre. Building in poor condition. Roof was leaking into bucket by our table.
It's my first time, and I hate I hadn't gone sooner! The food and service was great.
First visit to this location, we went to the one in Biloxi a few years ago . Sadly this one didn’t measure up. The drinks , appetizers and service are what pushed 4 stars versus a lower rating . The cocktails were delicious, we sat at the bar , the service there was wonderful. My husband had the oysters and raved about them , we shared the shrimp & crab dip it was also delicious. I was very disappointed in my entree . My filet and one of my sides was cold , the filet overcooked. Our server quickly replaced the cold side and returned the steak to be re-made . He offered me an additional drink on the house . My husbands tuna was good, it took the kitchen quite a while to replace my food . By the time it arrived my husband was through with his meal, I had eaten my sides . We were ready to go , I ate one bite of my replacement steak and the flavor was not impressive. Took the rest to go . Again to the servers compliment when brought out the steak he also brought fresh sides. Will most likely come back but won’t be ordering the steak again . For the cost the quality was not comparable .
The place get busy on a weekend, however they have plenty of seats and tables. Their bar also serve food that’s in the menu. The staff in the bar were really nice, I appreciate that you didn’t have to wait for specific server to take care of what you need, seems like everyone in the bar were willing to help and they are working as a team. The food and drinks are excellent. As a first time visitor in this location, I surely recommend this place and will be coming again.
I've been to Half Shells in Gulfport, Biloxi, and Jackson, and always had a great experience. Menu has great variety, and everything can be customized to your taste. Our group had the Redfish Orleans, grilled snapper, shrimp pasta, and blackened redfish. All was superb. Service was fantastic as well. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was 1) the bread pudding dessert was very disappointing, and 2) the shrimp and crab dip was as well.
