The food was so beautifully done, I will definitely be back for another visit so great also black owned business which I'm so excited to be apart and enjoy. Thanks Flava for ah great experience.

Best place hands down in Tuscaloosa to get your seafood or soul from..Got me and my gf and platter today that had wingz, crab legs and loaded fries..and it was omg AMAZING!!! I'm telling you if you ever in Tuscaloosa and need to stop and get a good hot meal Flavaz is the place to go I promise you won't be disappointed. The menu option are beyond great!!!Customer service on 100 makes you feel welcomed soon as you enter..Definitely will be bk.

We tried them out for lunch today, everyone had something different off the line and it was all great. I ordered more to go before I even finished my plate. I had the neck bones , Macaroni, rice, greens, and the punch and it hit the spot. Well be back before I leave Tuscaloosa! Great job!

Definitely enjoyed that food, FLAVA got that flavor, The punch ?? is sweeeeetttt?Definitely worth the 2 mile walk it took me to get here, lol!

The food was fantastic, but there was a long wait. There were not a particularly large number of customers in my opinion, but several of the items ran out and created a long line. They have some sort of internal policy to not give refills, and require you to purchase another drink. This was not made apparent to me until I tried to get a refill. The price is very high for a restaurant located in a food court, but most people seem to be getting the food to go. I waited a little bit more than 20 minutes for my plates that did not include anything not on the hot bar. The only item that was out was the whole chicken wings. All together the food was very good, the service existed, the restaurant was not disgusting, but certainly wasn't clean. If you are not in a hurry and don't mind paying a little more them have at it! Also the dining area was hot like the AC wasn't working well. The food was slightly better than King's Kitchen, but I would much prefer to go there.Update: I went back and the service was much faster. The food was again some of the best you are likely to get around here, but the price was steep. I got a meat, 3 sides and a drink that came out to over $20. They seem to be having more customers than they anticipated which is a good thing, but today the people up front were experienced and fast. I have eaten at the other location several times, but never went on Sunday when they had a similar menu to this location. I love the candied yams, cabbage, and collards. All 3 are the best or right there with the best I have had in Tuscaloosa. I was actually going to get some Pizza, but they were closed, so I got this instead. The food is great, everything else is similar to other mall establishments, but the price is steep. Sometimes you just have to pay for quality.Another Update! This place is consistent and easily the best meat and three you can get in Tuscaloosa. The food is just flavored more. Everything you get is very good and consistent. The initial opening traffic has died down, but it still takes a little bit to get your food if you are a walk in. Overall I really like this place and reccomend it to almost everyone that asks about a local place to eat.

First time visiting this restaurant yesterday and it was amazing! I will definitely be back! The ladies working there were very patient with me when I couldn’t decide what to get. And the Mac and cheese!!! You know that recipe came from grandma! Sooo good!!!! I had a shrimp boil and my friend had the fried pork chop! We loved it! Y’all go support this business

While visiting my mother in Tuscaloosa I told her I read there was a soul food restaurant in the university mall I wanted to try. I had read about “ Flavaz“ when I was back home in Alaska and did some research to see if it was a restaurant that could satisfy my craving for the southern food I grew up eating as a child. The pictures online were appetizing but it did no justice for the experience and taste I received when I came to the restaurant. The service was awesome and the food was only second to my mother’s cooking. Every dish my family ordered was exactly what a person who enjoys southern soul food would expect .. I 100% recommend this establishment as a must visit if you crave down home cooking!

Food was really good. First and foremost the prices that you see on google is not their original prices So don’t be discouraged. I called and ordered over the phone customer service was good. It’s like $13 and some change for a soul food plate but no drink is not included. Definitely still worth it tho. Mac and cheese is so cheesy and thick . I love it. Fried wings are very similar to the kind you would fry at home which is good. I definitely will be back .

I haven’t been in the mall in a long while and seen this restaurant and always wanted to try them out. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by two nice ladies; one being the owner. The owner, might I add, has such great and inviting energy. She’s very vocal and expressive and I mean that in the most positive way. I felt genuine energy from her and that’s refreshing when you have all of these owners put on like they care about the customers when they really don’t. All of their food displayed looked and smelled fresh. I honestly was standing there for about 10 mins trying to figure out what I wanted and didn’t felt rushed at all. I ended up ordering baked chicken, Mac and cheese, greens and cornbread. Let me tell you, BEST soul food I’ve eaten in a years. Everything was hot, seasoned well and served in good portions. I couldn’t even finish it all there. I also went and got more of the baked chicken, it was that good! Pricing is also fair and worth what you’re spending. She told me next time to bring my wife and she can bet I will!! Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely support Flavaz as many times as I can.

Before and after picture. Lol. Listen this place was good. I am visiting out of town and was looking for some seafood for the day after work. This place had good reviews and decided to try it out. It was amazing. I got the shrimp broil with 5 extra shrimp since it only came with 10. I spent about $30 on just that but it was worth it. Def going to be back when I visit again.
