Well this isn’t a good look…we have had some great meals here, but when stuff like this starts to happen things can go down hill fast. Hope y’all can get it together.
For our first time trying Zen, I’ll give it a 5 star review.We came here for date night tonight on a Wednesday night and it was perfectly not crowded. The host greeted us quickly, sat us, and we got our drink orders pretty immediatelyI ordered an eel roll because when I asked the waiter about the raw sushi rolls that are wrapped in radish/cucumber rather than rice and seaweed he said it was only a special roll? Whatever that meansI also ordered shrimp hibachi dinner while my husband ordered the NY strip dinner.We decided to dine in rather than sit around the hibachi areaThe restaurant was beautiful inside, high ceilings, clean, and modern with bar seating and sushi bar seatingWhen I got the eel roll, the first thing I noticed was how there was barely any eel in there compared to other sushi restaurants I’ve been to (which has been all over the states). But it did taste pretty fresh so next time I’ll dine in just for sushi and will update my reviewThe hibachi dinner was great. It wasn’t super salty like other hibachi restaurants.I felt like my husband’s steak was a bit over cooked but he enjoyed his mealBesides the skimping out on eel, the only problem I had was waiting longer than usual for our hibachi dinner to come out. I was expecting our food to be nice and hot but it was actually partially cold like it was sitting in the back for a bitWe were starving so at this point we were scarfing our food down.I will be back for more sushi and to try their noodle dish!
What superb food and drinks. A bit on the pricier side but every bite and every sip was well worth it. From the moment you walk in and take in the floral wall you will eyeballs will be pleased by the ambiance. Show up with an empty stomach because the food servings will fill you up.
Five star place but I had to give it Four stars because there was only one person running the entire restaurant. Bless him ?❤️
Went there for lunch today and loved it. The spicy salmon roll is full of flavor and fresh. Staff is attentive and so nice!!
Our new date night spot!!! Our amazing server was fantastic, the food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was gorgeous! We felt welcomed, everyone on the staff was positive and happy. I told my Fiance that this is the best spot I've been to in Auburn hands down.I spent 15 years in the restaurant industry and from the ambiance, presentation, staff, and overall experience I have to say I was blown away! Thank you Zen!

Every so weekend I would visit here and they would never disappoint. Today I ordered what I always get the “Chicken Fried Rice”. The service was super nice and quick, I looked at other reviews and was sad that some thought this place wasn’t good. I think “ Zen” improve every time I go there. I’m always looking forward for “Zen” . Thank you for the best possible experience. Also “Golden California Roll”… the best!! ☺️
Excellent service and great food. I was seated immediately after coming through the door and the servers was very attentive, never letting my glass get empty. The menu and prices are what you would expect for a Japanese sushi and steak restaurant. I ordered the Hibachi steak. It was cooked perfectly and was exceptionally tender. I highly recommend.
