Went to the Wishbone Cafe to support my son and "More Elements" last night. The music was good, except they can never get the sound right for the lead singer and the background vocals. The engineers on the sound board did not get it right again. This group of ladies can SANG! Not sing but Sang! When I entered the building the host was talking about my parents how they ran by him in a hurry to sit down when my mother is on a walker with back problems and cant stand very long and he said that it cost $10 to sit on a particular side. I told him no problem and sent money back by my dad to pay for all of us. I had to go to the restroom. We came to support and eat, plus enjoy the show. Last night's vibe was all wrong. After More Elements finished their show, they had a local comedian that was very disrespectful in every way, which ended the evening in a very uncomfortable place for me. I dont know about anybody else, that's the way I felt. If he had hit me in the head with the mic one more time it was really getting ready to go left, because you dont know me like that. This is supposed to be a nice place to relax and not be taken back to the past using the N-word in a disrespectful way! It is unacceptable and I won't be back to this establishment for a while. We spent quite a bit of money on last evening and my dad went back to use the restroom after he had helped my son with loading his equipment and they told him no and the place still had people in the establishment. They said they had to clean the restroom because they were closing and you still have people in there and on the patio and you couldn't let him use the restroom. Unacceptable!
This review is based right now on the service. Not very friendly. In fact a bit indifferent considering that any customer is a potential regular. I’m a little disappointed but I will try the food at least one time and update my review. Sadly my review has to change the food was trash. Jerk wings and every thing is burnt. The Jeffery’s was the worse. I also asked for it without the ham and they still added it. This has been the worse food I’ve ever had in Montgomery so far.
This is a gem of a restaurant. I love Louisiana cuisine, and I’ve lived a few years west of Baton Rouge. The food here reminds me of the best I’ve had there. They absolutely nailed the rice; the bedrock of great Cajun grub. Excellent, balanced seasoning, nice seafood. The chefs take pride in their work- it shows.
Me and my coworkers get the soup on Fridays and it is always delicious. I love the laid back atmosphere! always one of my favorites in Montgomery!
Really friendly customer service. Good quality freshly made food at reasonable prices. Only thing that could use some improvements is a bit of bathroom repairs.Easy nice stop.
The best food I had in Montgomery! This place really make you wanna slap all the other restaurant owners in the face and say damn do better, why can't you be like wishbone? Food was phenomenal, service was amazing, I only wish we would have come back in the evening for the live band.
Today I came in and ordered 2 Quarts of the famous collard green soup to take back home with me, absolutely disappointed, first off it was served cold and tasted like spoiled milk and old stale greens, it was extremely bland and there were none of the normal ingredients used. Never coming here again. Not to mention they have a low score on there health inspection with the word bugs circled.
As the years go by the quality of the food gets poor. Also, I think it’s off that the place stays open til 11 but the kitchen closes almost 3 hours earlier than the open floor/bar. Wishbone’s prime was at its old location.
This was not the best night for me. I was there as a guest for a dinner party. There was one waitor and he was running back and forth, table to table and least to say I really felt sorry for him. My children did not like their shrimp nor quesadillas because it was cold... It took a long time to get the ticket because again he was the only working waitor that night. I don't know if it's because there are very few workers and Cooks and that's why the food was not good and service slow but I pray they will do better in the future.
First time ordering food. It was plenty and good. The Louis Armstrong great dish !
