There was a long wait but that’s because they were short staffed. Being it’s Memorial Day weekend, call outs are inevitable. The food was good fresh and hot! We’re from GA so we wanted seafood from the coast and Wintzell’s in Montgomery AL didn’t disappoint!
We were at a conference for work and we all went out for dinner as a group. I applaud for waitress for being able to handle the large group of people we had. I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and the fried catfish dinner. It was so much food for the cost and it was all so delicious. I will definitely be back whenever I am in town.
Service was ok enough, the waitress was a bit busy but the restaurant was a bit dirty, bar service slow. Food came out hot for most, room temp for a few. I got a chicken sandwich, it was somewhat redeeming from the appetizers. Approval so salty i about died.
I got the feeling this place will be out of business soon. Service TERRIBLE, Food WORSE if that was even possible. We waited for 15 mins to be seated with only a few people in there…it took over an hour to get our cold appetizers and another 30 mins to get our bad food. The entire experience was off the chain bad. With people arriving after we were seated, being seated, ordering, eating and leaving…ATROCIOUS! Never again! Eat somewhere else is my suggestion.
The service was awful, server was not attentive and the bar tender was outright rude. Felt as if we were bothering them by just being there. I do have to say once we received our food after being there for 2 hours the food was amazing.
I went there on April 12th 2022. We had a group of 8 ladies. The server was nice & prompt. Food was not very good. Oysters were not cold & had browning around the edges. After waiting a long time, the waitress came back & said no baked potatoes. So we had to substitute. Cheese grits were bland . I saw the health score of 83 only after we were leaving. That is awful. It was inspected on April,7th 2022. I my self spent 50.00. The other ladies spent 25-50 also. Captain D’s would have been better.
Extremely slow service. No offer to refill drinks. Server left off two of our sides. I suppose she thought we wanted them for desert. Average food. This place is in need of a manager who actually is on top of things.
Food was absolutely delicious lots of it oysters are humongous and very very good excellent bartender so much food I could even eat my dinner there seafood gumbo is to die for
Our waitress Kidd was very nice and polite! Food was great and fresh!
Absolutely terrible.....$220 family dinner that no one finished due to being so bad. Server did her best under overwhelming conditions. Every item that came out of kitchen was ridiculously bad. Place was very crowded due to limited dining options downtown on a Saturday night. I can't imagine anyone that eats there once goes back... avoid if visiting Montgomery.
