Family owned restaurant with a variety of options on the menu. Our group of 14 chose to eat here and I didn't hear one complaint about the food. The fried oysters were said to be very good as well as the prime rib. Hubby and I had the meat and 3. Fried chicken breast was good, country fried steak and mashed potatoes were good also. The best was their squash casserole! I wasn't expecting much but was surprised at how good it was! I'd go back just for that! We chose the fruit crisp fir dessert and were surprised at the large portion.Best of all was the fantastic service! Our server took care of all our needs quickly and with ease. Wish I could remember his name!
This is one of the best places I've eaten in a long time. It has a grandmas kitchen feel to the environment our waiter was on top of his game. The food was amazing I got the turkey pot roast and my husband wouldn't stop eating it lol.
This was our first time coming here to eat and it was an amazing experience. We had a pork loin meal with 3 sides and a steak meal with 3 sides. The food was good and the
Service was great. The waitress was awesome, she could not help the food was terrible. Fried Green tomatoes not done, banana pudding taste like jello, wasn't even any bananas in it. The squash casserole had more onion that squash it seemed. The corn bread was cold. Was going to order ribs, the Tuesday special but no ribs. Was going to order Fried oysters, no oysters. Don't give me that Covid excuse for being out.I was very disappointed. The service, refilling my tea and being nice was the best in town, almost made me forget how bad the food was.
Sommers Place is my favorite place to eat be it lunch or dinner. The staff there very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and always taste the same. Ice tea is also good. I took my brother and dad there and they love it also. I give them a 5.
Tasty, quick service and friendly people. Great prices too. I will return ?
I really enjoyed my dinner at Sommer's Place. The price is very reasonable, I ordered dinner for three adults and a child plus an appetizer for less than $55 before tip. I ordered the meatloaf and three sides and my wife ordered the pork chop with three sides. I ate every bite. My wife didn't complain but had some small critiques. Location isn't bad but the details and decor feel small town. Server was attentive and not pushy. I would definitely come again
I went to Sommer’s Place for the first and last time today. My mother raves about their French onion soup and blueberry crisp. After a brief wait, we’re seated and provided menus. Our server comes by, doesn’t greet us or introduce herself, only says,”What can I get you to drink?” She returns a few minutes later with our drinks and takes our order. I got French onion soup and a house salad. When she returned, my mother asked her for an order of blueberry and peach crisp. I did not see either on the menu (this will be important later). Throughout the experience, or server remained cold, but it was lunch, so I gave her grace as I waited tables for nearly a decade and I know how it goes. I finish my salad and soup, and move on to the peach crisp. One, nothing is crisp about it; call it what it is: cobbler. Second, it has walnuts. Having never been to this restaurant, and not looking at the dessert menu prior to ordering my lunch, I did not see the note several inches below it that said it contains walnuts. I bite into a nut, and immediately spit it into my napkin. I asked her when she walked by if they were walnuts, and stated that I have an allergy. Before she asked if I was okay or wanted anything else, she said,”it’s right there on the menu.” I apologized, having never been there, and she cut me off to say,”are you gonna be okay?” but not in a concerned manner at all. Before I could even say anything, she started listing other options for me, which I said the blueberry would be fine and moved on.A menu was still on our table, and I looked at it before she came back. Under the platters (meat and two or three) it’s listed above the blueberry crisp, with an asterisk next to it, and two inches below it is the allergen warning. Considering I got soup and a salad, not a platter, and someone else ordered the cobbler for me, she could’ve handled it with half an ounce of compassion.Catherine C., the food wasn’t nearly good enough to support your bad attitude and lack of character. I don’t see how you pay your bills on tips, considering you lack any table side manner.
I had dinner at Sommer’s Place last night. The atmosphere and staff were AMAZING! I have been eating here since it opened almost 28 years ago. They go out of their way to get you what you want! The menu has a lot of options, the food is excellent, and the staff, as always, is wonderful! Thank you for a great time last night! See you again this Friday!
The food here is made with care. The way it's presented and the quality of the food is terrific! It's EXCELLENT comfort food. The flavor and seasoning is on point. I always look forward to ordering food from this establishment. Well done! ?
