I had a delightful breakfast here. Good coffee. Good eggs, bacon, grits, and toast. Friendly service. Nice ambiance. I recommend it!
Awesome customer service. Food is very good moderate cost. We had house salad with chicken. Gumbo and a cheeseburger.
I've honestly never been, and wear I delightfully surprised. I had the fried quail, with cheese grits and it was perfect for a light Saturday brunch. Also has a nice bloody Mary, it was well made, but not anything super special, but it really doesn't have to be. Great service, with friendly helpful staff, Andi hope you get the chance to visit. I've always thought the deli itself was so overgrown feeling outside that it can be difficult to even see is location if you didn't know it existed.
I've been visiting Shashy's since it first opened in the early 90's. It has always been a really nice place with high quality food. I definitely recommend paying them a visit.
I ordered a key lime pie for my husbands birthday one week in advance. I go to pick it up at the exact scheduled pick up time, 9am. I was told they did not have key lime and the pie had not been made. I was asked to come back in 2 hours. I got in my car when the person helping me said they found key lime and the pie could be done in 20 minutes. Later I checked my bank account and was charged 42.77 for a $23 pie. I had to call. They claimed that I must have given a tip. I know for a fact that I hit NO TIP. And I am sure there was no option for a 85% tip! Give me a break! Needless to say, won’t be going back!
No idea why rating is so high. Maybe we hit on an off day. Cheese grits were REALLY salty. Western omelet was very watery from veggies, sweating rather than sautéing causes this. Toast hard? How? And seriously, what sausage brand? It tastes like Chloraseptic.I'm sorry owners. Came here because the menu was a great concept, but the execution today was way off.
Great little diner and bakery. We typically eat lunch here but their breakfast is good too. It looks like there isn't much parking but they have a lot behind the building with easy access too.
Definitely replacing a few of my favorite brunch spots! The atmosphere is very laid back but the chandeliers give it a beautiful touch of elegance. The food was great!I would prefer if arugula was added to the benedict option but everything was hot, fresh and well seasoned..My order was out in less than 15 minutes. The mimosas were divine as well!I'm sure the location is usually busy but I'm grateful I was able to catch a slower day.Waitress was attentive and friendly.
Went for breakfast about 9:45, maybe 4 tables in the place, everybody eating. I sat down waitress came over. I ordered coffee. Got it fast. Ordered my food. It took a little while but okay. A man was refilling coffee and removing dirty plates. I ran out of coffee (not the first time this has happened here). I waited a long time for a refill. Food came out. I had ordered the eggs benedict. Very little sauce. They only have ham, eggs and sauce, no tomatoes. I asked for more Hollandaise sauce. The man brought it out. It was room temp. Who wants room temp. sauce on hot food? I ate it anyway because my server walked up put my check on the table and walked off. She never asked if I needed anything or if everything was okay. I got up to pay, had to wait at the register. The OWNER came up to cash me out. Asked how everything was. I told him the potatoes and coffee was hot. He asked about the other food. I told him the sauce they gave me was room temp. He said Hollandaise Sauce is always room temp. I just looked at him. He said very ugly that he was not charging me for the food and stormed into the kitchen. As I said before who wants cold or room temp. sauce on hot eggs? Bad service (0nly 4 or 5 tables all people eating), and very RUDE OWNER. Never go there by yourself, you get no service, tables with 2 or more people got good service. I will Never go back.
We went here for Saturday brunch and it was problematic. Clearly understaffed. Our waitress also was working the bakery counter. A few people in the bakery section were taking the server's time while people at tables were waiting for service. Orders were slow coming out of the kitchen - but we were warned at least. One table left after saying they had waited an hour and not received their food. When our food came, my order of scrambled eggs, hash browns and rye toast had become a western omelet. When I sent it back I got scrambled eggs, cheese grits and white toast - close enough if we were going to ever eat. Other meals were closer to what was ordered. We had to ask for butter and jelly for the toast. Drinks were never refilled as the server was working the bakery counter. Disappointed given the restaurant's reputation.
