Stopped in for a quick bite but it was anything but. 20 minute wait to be seated and then a long time to be waited on. Obviously they were quite busy but they needed more help. Once our order was taken, our service was excellent. Ordered a pizza and it was actually quite disappointing. Tasted more like a frozen pizza from the grocery store. Didn’t even finish it. Maybe it was an off night cause it was packed. Wouldn’t go back.
The food presented here is not Italian but American inspired Italian; meaning not Italian. Noisy and slow service.
I really want to like SaZa. The food is good, if inconsistent, and the service is friendly. The problem is the atmosphere. It is loud, crowded and shabby (and not in the shabby chic way that I think they were hoping for). It is poorly laid out. Some tables have a constant stream of traffic past them while others are crammed together, with wait staff practically climbing over you. It is noisy enough to make conversation difficult. I had a table near the door last night and it was uncomfortably cold, with an arctic blast every time the door opened. All in all, the ambiance is a dartboard and a TV screen away from being a sports bar. The food is good, but not consistently great. Sometimes it excels. Last night, my veal parmigiana was dry and the penne needed more sauce. I think it had sat for a while before getting to me, as the service was quite slow. The waiter was good but overwhelmed with the number of tables he was handling and the kitchen appeared to be running behind. I will probably go back, but that says more about the Montgomery restaurant scene than it says for SaZa.
Noise, noise, noise. They told us 3 times to wait 10 minute. Food is average minus. The salmon was dry. Have you ever seen a real italian resturant with no espresso? Service was good
Couldn't hear ourselves think. Waiter could nothear orders music so load. Hostess rude and didn't care about customers. Used to visit but no more.
Went here on Oct 15 @5pm walked in we had to wait for about 5 minutes the waitress took us to our seats which we requested to be outside . Started us off with ice water idk which restaurant still does that but it was a great gesture ordered a appetizer which my wife wanted the egg plant it was so good . The main course I ordered the lasagna which was amazing and it had pesto sauce on it and lot of meat inside of the lasagna and my wife had a different entree but she said hers was excellent. This was authentic Italian food . We will be going back soon .
Took our daughter there as she was wanting Italian. Even though they were busy everyone was still friendly. Our service was good. We ordered bread and spinach dip. Both were excellent. By the time our meals came out I was full from the bread lol. I sent the leftovers to the college dorm for my daughters roomies. I highly recommend this place and will go back
Y’allll the food at Sazas is second only to the customer service!!! The chicken piccata (not pictured because I inhaled it) and the Chocolate Lava Cake (half eaten) is on point!!! Best place in Montgomery!!! Johnny and Sikes are awesome! Jeff and his Crew at the bomb!!
Great service in a relaxed atmosphere. The arancini was very good. Not excellent, but still very tasty. The pizzas are also scrumptious. Besides eating here for good Italian, the other big claim to fame is that Sa-Za is owned by chef Joe Dimagio Jr. (fourth cousin of the legendary baseball player), and some of the restaurants recipes are from Joe D. Jr.'s grandmother. So, it's a fun place with more authentic Italian than some restaurants.
Walked across the street from hotel and ordered the Bandito Salad and the Grandma Pizza to go. Hostess asked for my cell phone number so I thought they would call or text me when food was ready. Hostess told me I could wait at the tables right outside the door. They posted a sign saying orders would take longer due to shortage of staff but, over an hour for a salad and a pizza, is ridiculous. Food took so long I went back in to inquire if it was ready. I was given the food, which I could clearly see had been set on the shelf. I took my food and walked back across the street to the hotel. When I got to the room I opened the salad and the half of avocado was mostly brown and the arugula was wilted. The pizza was crust was hard, dry, and the spinach on it tasted like paper. I was so mad I threw it all in the trash. I will never order from this restaurant again!
