It was nine already and I was looking for some place to get a quick dinner before I headed out on a four hour drive to Tallahassee. Most of the restaurants appeared to be closed on google maps. This was one of the few that appeared to be open. Walked into the restaurant with not so high expectations but I was in for a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is easy to miss as it is tucked away inside the alley, hence the name I guess. The ambience is pretty much what you would see in a Mexican restaurant, with open tables and booths. The menu has a good mix of Mexican foods and drinks. Before long I had a basket of nachos and salsa. Thr chips were really fresh and tasted great. I liked the salsa, too. It was fresh in taste, too. I ordered a Pollo Asado. And it didn't take long for it to show up on my table. So, the grilled chicken breast was served on the cast iron skillet on a bed of grilled bell peppers and onions and oh boy there delicious. I am not a big fan of bell peppers but I absolutely loved them here. The onions were caramelized to perfection, just the way I preferred. It was as if the chef knew my taste. And the chicken, wow!!! It was juicy and grilled to perfection. The spice blend was just amazing and was not overpowering. I loved it. The chicken was accompanied by rice and beans with cheese and tortillas. It was great. I absolutely loved it.The restaurant was an amazing find for me and I will definitely return when I am in Montgomery. Would love to try other items on the menu The servers are friendly, too. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely meal here. While visiting from England. Myself my wife and son. The staff were very friendly. And informative. Thank you.(Really nice cold beer on a hot night )
Absolute, USDA Grade A Certified GARBAGE!!! Visited today for the first, and most assuredly, last time. Super light crowd and the bathroom looked like a war zone. It was filthy! Ordered a raspberry margarita which I was informed that they're out of. Ok, no problem. Tell me your other flavors. After working through a SEVERE language barrier, I got what was hands down the absolute WORST, watered down rum (??????) margarita. The chips were good but the salsa tasted straight out of grocery store shelf. I honestly feel sorry for anyone that thinks this is good Mexican food. Dirty bathrooms, dirty restaurant with subpar everything including wait staff. I will never be back again and will make fun of anyone that says this place is good MERCILESSLY.
Absolute worst Mexican food I have ever had. Ordered a chicken quesadilla supreme. The chicken looked and tasted like tuna. I asked if it was canned chicken, but was told no. Might have been cat food, still unsure. Gross..
The food was brought out fast but the server was pre occupied and had to ask twice to verify order. It came out fast but we had to find her to settle up- then when she didn’t come back we went looking for our card and it was on the cola machine up front unattended. Wasn’t happy- Food was great- just think we got the wrong server.
After trying three other nearby restaurants on a Tuesday evening, the management welcomed us to their restaurant, seated us immediately, and got us fed in a timely manner on a "slammed" night for them. The food was good. The wait staff was short-handed but did not ignore us. These people want to work! And, I like spending money with folks like that. Thanks for the work ethic and the good meal.
The place has a nice vibe. Beyond that it was quite average. They served wine in a martini glass. my wife’s dinner arrived cold. Good for a quick bite of Mexican if you’re staying downtown, but not worth a drive.
Hubby picked a beer what he thought was an IPA, when we asked the waiter what it was exactly , he said he didn’t know. It was an orange beer. We ordered Nachos, they were so bland, just plain chicken, cheese and tortillas. Everyone else seemed to get a basket of tortilla chips, we didn’t, maybe you need to ask? If we had been impressed we would have gone back for dinner! Nice location.
We showed up after an OTS graduation, with 10 people at a very busy lunch service. They were kind and quick to seat us. We went on different checks, but the server got it all correct, was patient, and paid great attention to detail. The food was amazing. We don’t know the area, so when the restaurant came recommended, we gave it a shot! So glad we did- excellent!
Busy location located in the alley area downtown Montgomery. Fantastic atmosphere and delicious food.
