I am not a big fan of Mexican food but El Taco Shop has to be one of the best in Montgomery. The food and service are great. We have never had any issues here. They have several salsas on the bar with other things like fresh onion, cilantro, limes, and jalapeños. We eat here more often than we should I think but it really is that good.
Love this place! I was introduced to it by my cousin when he was stationed at Maxwell. Not living in Montgomery, we plan our trips so we will be through Montgomery when they are open. Delicious food with excellent service. Was nice to see inside dining expanded on our last visit.
The apps were great. Chorizo dip and the guacamole. The street tacos could have been a little more fresh. And the tamales were a bit dry. The service and atmosphere made up for all of it. Would definitely go again and recommend.
Wasn’t like other Taco places in San Antonio Texas. The steak plate was a lil dry, drinks was good.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Montgomery for tacos! Everything is delicious and the tiktok birria combo is amazing. We got tacos al pastor, pork belly, steak and chorizo, and chicken taco along with Pollo Loco. The desserts are delicious, too. The flan and churros were great!
I have never seen worse Mexican food. All of our tacos were missing the onions, cilantro and sauce we ordered. My shrimp taco had what looked like 3 or 4 tiny shrimp. It was hard to tell because it was broken up. We ordered tacos with carne asada, AL pastor, and carnitas. They were greasy and had little flavor. We also ordered steak nachos that looked like ground beef with soggy chips. All in all, we spent $60 (ordered through GrubHub). Subtracting delivery fee, food still very overpriced.
The girl the took our order had a beautiful smile on her face friendly and helpful. They have a beautiful salsa bar different varieties of red and green salsas. The tacos were absolutely delicious. For a moment I was back home in California.
Terrible food. My kids said it was like canned cat food. They got beef soft tacos I got chicken quesadilla. The chicken had some nasty flavor. It tasted like the smell of dog food. Asked for refund and they refused. The only thing that was good was the Mountain Dew. Tiny portions big prices.
loved now the renovations look, cool the door could be up in December. Food and service was awesome.
