Celebrated Air Force commissioning with my daughter and we got her some real food for a change. I had the sausage plate with two sides and our Second Lieutenant had the chicken sandwich. My first impression of this restaurant was that they were open earlier than advertised. My second impression was the one that really made a difference. They staff was fantastic! They were friendly, polite, upbeat and really made us feel welcomed. I miss that.
I have always heard about this place. When I found out I was going to Montgomery for a conference then I knew I had to try it. Upon arrival the waiter was friendly and super attentive. He gave us so much insight on the menu and answered any questions I had. I ordered the rib plate with macaroni and cheese and baked beans. The food was delicious and I’ll definitely be back when I am in town.
The selection is not much and they don't even serve pull pork plates. I mean most bbq restaurants you go to they have more of a variety. From the kitchen there is only 2 things to choose from. I know for a fact that I will not return to Dreamland BBQ.
Really tasty lunch wrap with a delicious pint of ale to go with it. Friendly service and fun atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend!
We stopped for lunch while passing through Montgomery. It checked off all our boxes: great good, good prices and friendly staff. We’d stop again!
Server was quick, but never asked if I liked my food. My rib tips were disgusting. My husbands's ribs were fine and the sides were ok. So I filled up on the sides, and haven't had barbecue since.
We stopped here for dinner after visiting the Legacy Museum. It was within walking distance of the museum. We got there and it was very busy with a short wait. We were told twenty minutes but it was less than ten to get seated. The staff were all very friendly, prompt and attentive to us even with how busy they were. Our food was hot and delicious. The portions were quite big for the price. We will definitely be back if we visit Montgomery again.
So good! Sauce on ribs was delicious! Ribs were moist good smoke flavor. Pulled Chicken sandwhich was good. Baked Beans were good!!! Server was nice and attentive, friendly. Experience feels like home. Overall one of the best barbecue spots in Alabama.
They get five stars for the ambiance, but zero for a hair we found in the macaroni and cheese. Unfortunately, everything you see in the pictures arrived luke warm to cold. Not the authenticity we were looking for. The best part of the meal was Monica, our server. She was so apologetic and customer friendly it was the only thing that kept my rating this high. They did do the right thing and credited me the whole bill which we insisted they do not do, and we made sure to get a bill for the dish we ate. We weren't looking for a dinner credit for sure, but they did the right customer service thing. Still, the rating stands. Should not have had the experience we did.
Those local to Alabama know the story of Dreamland and it’s ties to the university of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. There are many BBQ places to choose from and dreamland is one of the more popular choices. The servers are very nice and offered suggestions to try. The atmosphere in the old downtown area is unique. And the price is comparable to other places in the area. Been many times and will come again.
