Disappointing visit. The waitress was new but she was trying hard, and did a good job. Quality of the food was not up to Cracker Barrel standards. They were out of pot roast (which was the daily special), were out of mushrooms (which I wanted on my second choice meal), and my wife's baked potato was cold and hard (wouldn't melt butter). Our waitress did take the potato back to the kitchen and microwaved it, which at least made it hot enough to melt the butter. We visited mid-afternoon, so they shouldn't have been out of anything, least of all, the "special".
We went to eat at the montgomery location. We went in hopes of a quick, easy and good meal since it was during a slower period. Upon arriving We had to wait at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged. We still were left standing at the hostess stand for while to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. We were finally able to be seated and proceeded proceeded look over the menu. We sat for about 10 to 15 minutes waiting and in that time frame we had no greeting or contact from ANY of the staff present. We were passed by multiple staff and no one still said or did anything. We sat there no drink or anything, and we decided to leave. We spoke to the manager and he proceeded to say that the incident happened because of being in the middle of a 'shift change.' While this could potentially be true, there was nothing on his end he was willing to do in order to keep a customer happy, pleased or willing to return back to this franchise. As a manager I would think that seeing a customer sitting there with no assistance would let the action happen especially for passing us at least three separate occasions. I will be telling my friends and family to not waste time on going here to take their business somewhere else who is more willing to provide customer service.
The wait was quite long for a Wednesday morning. Very understaffed. Our server was excellent! Food was excellent! The bathroom was disgusting ?. It needs a major cleaning! It’s needs a complete overhaul! The sinks are brown, the walls and doors are extremely dirty. I’m not even going to describe the floors…. I will never eat there again!
The food was excellent served with a smile, she was a great server. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Had my usual grilled catfish, turnip greens, pinto beans, and fried apples (I have food allergies that limit what can eat). It was good, as usual. Wait staff was nice, when they got there. They were very slow getting order. A little slow getting our food but not as bad as we have experienced in the past at other locations. Hate that they don't have the fruit stand tea anymore. I like the peach, but the fruit stand was really nice.
I ordered two meat loaf dinners with two sides. Everything was good and on point. I loved it. I selected cornbread and biscuits with a large tea. I also purchased 3 for 5 Hersey candy bars. Very big I must say. BTW, candy bars were delicious, as well.
This is my fiance and his mom's favorite place so we came here tonight, we are decently regular here. I've worked in the food industry plenty and can understand how things get hectic but this was just an overall bad experience. This is the worst experience I've ever had here, the only other bad experience I've had was when I was seated and waited 20 minutes without any service, they didn't even ask what drinks we would like so we left after 20 minutes of being ignored. Tonight we were seated and was able to order quickly, but the waits were long. For refills on drinks, we waited for 15 minutes, we requested biscuits and waited over 30 minutes until they brought our food and requested them again and was told they were out of biscuits right after we saw people who got there after us being served biscuits. They eventually did bring biscuits towards the end of the meal, but the butter with them was hard and felt like they took it out of the freezer. The mashed potatoes were cold and didn't have gravy after being requested and repeated back to us. My mother in law ended up waiting 10 minutes for gravy after getting her food. She asked for no pink in the middle of her meat but it was still pretty pink in the middle. We were finally served our food but didn't have any silverware and had to wait at least 5 minutes after receiving food to get silverware. The waitress seemed aggravated even though we were being nice. Then when we went to pay for the food, we had to wait for someone to come to the register for probably about 5 minutes. We then purchased stuff from the shop and one thing was marked as 3.99, but we were charged 12.99 for it
Very poor service! We’ve been seated for 30 mins. We have been able to put in our order but can’t get rolls or a cup of coffee brought to the table. We are traveling through the area and won’t be stopping at Cracker Barrel while traveling again!
I personally don't like this type of food but I pick up orders for doordash and Waitr here. The restaurant has always been clean, organized and the staff was been friendly and helpful even when they're very busy! I love looking at all the neat things they have for sale.
I am not one to leave reviews for a restaurant. I may have left three in my life. This one deserves it, however. My wife used to love to go here. However, Monday January 17, 2022 changed that. Maybe it is because of the nature of things in the US right now, maybe it is not. We have never felt so unwelcome. Our server that evening took our order, no smile and no genuine desire to be there, it seemed. Initially we thought she might be having a bad night. Then, however, she was asked by surrounding tables for items or refills and she was full of glee and happiness with what seemed like a genuine want to help. Then she came back to our table with a frown and a look of disgust, "can I get you anything?" She asked. Before I could ask for a refill on my coffee, the customer at the table behind us asked for ketchup. She immediately left us, got their ketchup, and went back to the kitchen. I tried three times to get a refill, but was ignored.I started watching her a little closer and noticed that she was full of glee and joy when she served those in her same ethnic background. She was less than friendly when she interacted with those different from herself. So much for the thought that she was having a bad night, just had to serve what she obviously probably thought were undesirables.I probably won't be going back here again. The sad part is, we didn't get much better service from the cashier. When she was talking to her coworker, it was all laughs and good humor. With this customer it was eye rolling and sighs.
