Our first time here was wonderful. The server was very nice, kind and informative. We ordered a steak which was cooked perfectly, soft in the middle but seared with a crunch top & bottom. The grilled shrimp was okay with the side of butter. The salad was portioned small but everything was very filling with our appetizer. The crab claws were very meaty and fried perfectly. Fries & rolls were very good. Asparagus was plain but good. Definitely recommend this place although a little pricey, it’s very nice for a formal dinner.
Had dinner for my mom's bday. It was excellent food and excellent service. It was an absolute treat to eat there with my family. Really yummy food.
I have passed by this restaurant multiple times and it looks empty and closed. But my friends took me here around 5pm and the parking lot was half full. Once I walked in I was amazed at the old architecture and its beauty. Scott, our waiter showed us our table (6 people) and he was excellent throughout our meal. I had the steak and some had fish, very fresh fish as it's delivered it multiple varieties from the gulf daily. What a hidden gem on the outskirts of East Chase. Again Scott was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list! My friends and I will be going again. Thanks
Wonderful time and delicious food. We had a large group and made reservations ahead of time. Get the pork chop over the steak, yes you heard me right, it's the best.Everyone had rave reviews for anything they ate.
Average food. Luke warm she crab soup. Salad sux! High prices for simple add ons like cheese. Waitress with an attitude. $156 for two people. Not worth the money!
The best restaurant in Montgomery and one of the best restaurants anywhere. The rainbow trout is perfect. The she-crab soup is phenomenal. The gumbo rivals any gumbo in south Louisiana. The crab claws are the signature item and well worth ordering. The service is always fantastic and the ambience is hard to beat.
Average food at best. Service was great. $84 for a mediocre steak and piece of fish. Sides were actually better than the entrees. Basically a more expensive Applebee's.
We went to celebrate my daughter’s and mother’s birthday. It was highly recommend by my sister’s coworker. It was okay for Montgomery. The atmosphere was nice but most people were in jeans and t shirts even though it’s a fancy restaurant. The head hostess was really nice and professional. There were three of them but she was the only one who had the attitude and professionalism to go with the atmosphere. We spent about $50 per person which could have easily been way more expensive. My food was just okay for the price. I had the chopped steak and it was not seasoned at all. It came with plain white rice and gravy which didn’t have much taste. I had the asparagus which were cooked perfectly. Those that ordered the trout said it was good. I tasted a piece of my daughter’s steak and it was seasoned well and tender. I’m not sure about the shrimp but someone ordered it at the table. The service was great from our server although he did “correct” my sister when it was brought to his attention that the food was incorrect. Other than that he was way more upbeat than the other servers. Other than our server and the hostess, the other employees seemed very gloomy like they really didn’t want to be there. The chocolate cake was excellent. Overall it’s one of the nicest places I’ve been to in Montgomery. Cloverdale definitely has the best vibes. If my food was seasoned I would have given 4 stars. If the staff was more friendly I would have given 5 stars. But 3 stars for a great date night with just okay food and dry attitude.
Always a good experience and good food but buyer beware they have significantly raised their prices. Full meal for 4 with apps and drinks ran us $170. Too steep for a return trip even if the food was good. Extra $0.50 for 2 small rolls (really?), $7.95 upcharge (I knew it was more but not $8 more) for the featured salad instead of the one included with the meal, $36 for a pound of crab claws. Good food and service but be prepared to pay a steep price for every little thing.
I visited Charles Anthony's Restaurant @ the Pub for the first time and I hope it won't be my last. The menu was enticing because I saw numerous appetizers, entrees, and desserts that I wanted. The food was GREAT! I could make a meal from the appetizers alone. Our waiter, Josh was superbly attentive. Go there! Get the food! I insist!
