Central defines what fabulous service is. Every time we come here I am delighted. The food is modern southern which is a delicious take on local food. Their cocktails are crafted to perfection. If I could I would eat here twice a week!Some dishes that I have ordered over time include:Lamb Ribs- delicious from the Korean spice rubGrilled Oysters- pimento includedHot Chicken Buns- crunchy slaw, fried chicken, fluffy bunsVeggie Misto- tempura style veg, the mushroom was my favorite!Charcuterie Board- best in the city. They take the time to explain what in on the board!Pork Chop- a Southern staple!Steak- any steak you get is the best steak I’ve ever had. So tender, flavorful and accompanied with yummy sides.Short Ribs- a personal favorite. Very tender, then demi is rich, in a bed of the best grits in Montgomery.Catch of the Day- they highlight local fish and elevate it!Scallops- when in season, they are cooked perfectly!Hot Honey Chicken- crispy, sweet, crunchity, juicy chicken.Sunday Sauce- braided meat and house made pasta join and I rejoice!Desserts- every desert is crafted to a point, I enjoy their whimsical takes on the classics.
Charcuterie board is great. House made Pate very delicious. The lamb ribs are off the chain good.Tried the thai soft shell crab tonight. Unbelievable, im a soft shell crab junky and this Sh#t was great. I ment to take pic but it looked so good we they put it in front of me i forgot all about pictures.Had the soft shell crab again and it was as good as I remembered it.
Hands down, the best food in Montgomery. Super attentive staff, a negroni that was spot on, and a short rib that you could cut with a fork. Reservations are recommended, but you'll see why Central is the place to eat!

Central is a truly outstanding fine dining experience. The food—a delicate fusion of southern tradition and worldly culinary flavors—is absolutely scrumptious.While the menu rotates seasonally, the mainstays—like the beef short-rib—are there to stay for good reason. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.The signature cocktails are everything you could ask for; their sazerac is outstanding and they might just make the best old fashioned in Montgomery.The staff are attentive, friendly, and willing to accommodate. Definitely make a reservation; however, the bar seating is often a good last-minute option for a small party.
Really good service, fancy but not fussy, excellent food. We were in shorts and t-shirts and fit right in with other folks in their Easter finest. Interior is really warm and nice, super cool vibe, lots of wood and darker colors, quiet despite being very open layout. Open kitchen really adds to the vibe. Wait staff were super attentive, laid back but efficient. Food was terrific - the menu isn't huge, but really nice appetizer selection, delicious cocktails, and our entree was very good. Best Old Fashioned I've had across the southern US this year! I'd defintely go back here.

The Food was amazing but there were extremely long waits between dishes, over an hour between the salads and Steaks. Then the dessert never came and we were just given the bill and told it was closing time. A very bad way to spend our 21st wedding anniversary. We spent over 2 hours in Central, mainly sitting in uncomfortable chairs. As we left I apologized to my wife for such a terrible experience.
We were arriving last week for a short stay in Montgomery and noticed highly rated Central Restaurant online. It did not disappoint! Our meal was wonderful--the pork chops were perfectly prepared and artfully presented. A beautiful fresh mixed greens salad completed our meal. During the meal we enjoyed watching the chefs across the room while we also sipped a nice glass of wine recommended by our server. The atmosphere and service also made our visit memorable.
